Haven't posted in a while. Sold my '13 Limited last summer with plans to buy another T4R this spring. (Been enjoying an IS-F in the meantime!!). Getting that itch again and I'm really leaning toward a TRDPro. I was curious about what the plans are for '16 models. Is Toyota continuing the Pro lineup? Are changes expected??
I've had some folks tell me how hard they are to come by with limited production numbers, but when I search on Toyota's site there are several turning up near me. As soon as I can convince myself to sell the Lexus, it's straight to the stealership. I've been missing my Runner, even more with this nasty snow/ice we've had lately!

Thanks in advance, love getting on here and keeping up with all the projects!

Unless the T4RPro is a total flop, I can't see Toyota ditching it since they just came out in 2015.

That said, you can probably do better with a T4R Trail Edition and upgrade/modify on your own, for less than the cost of a Pro.

The 2016 model year is the last of the 5th gen if history holds true.

History shows they run the refreshed version for 4 years. So that would make 17 the final year.

I gave thought to just getting a Trail Premium because I'm one of the few that actually loves having a sunroof lol, but that white TRD is just calling my name. Plus, I work for Toyota and get a decent employee discount.
Really loved my LE, and when the '14s came out with the Redwoood leather that's really what prompted me to sell mine!

If I knew the '16 TRDs would have some different color options I'd probably hold off a while.

mkp81 Toyota has said nothing about their 2016 4Runner plans, and until they do there is no good info. That said, this is what is known about their past history:
1st Gen: 6 years, 1984-89
2nd Gen: 6 years, 1990-95
3rd Gen: 7 years, 1996-2002
4th Gen: 7 years, 2003-09
5th Gen: 6 years and counting, 2010-15 ...?

As for the TRDPro, they have not made a commitment for 2016, but since the Pro Series for the 4Runner, Tacoma, and Tundra was just launched this year, I'd be very surprised if it didn't continue into next year. I don't know if they consider it a success or failure, but it an admission of defeat seems premature. I'm sure their corporate partners, such as Bilstein, would not be pleased.
