Absolutely Mint 4runner on ebay

I'll just drop this here for some 4runner porn. Get your bib so your drool won't ruin phone or keyboard!

After you get done drooling make sure you actually look hard. This truck is not collector grade and is actually full of mistakes but it has one crazy salesman trying to scam someone.

Look at this on eBay 1986 Toyota 4Runner COLLECTOR GRADE 85K ORIGINAL MILES AC

It's mint however Pretty sure somebody added the SR5 graphics. My 86 SR-5 (bought it new in 86) had power windows, inclinometer, rear heater and fabric door panels. This has none of that stuff or even a tach. Looks like a nice low mileage base model with some stickers.
Rear springs on this have been re-arched or something- and it might be just me but the rear axle doesn't look centered on the wheel well to me..

edit: also the SR-5 should be an emblem next to the EFI emblem, not a sticker on the upper right of the tailgate...

emailed the seller to see what they say

regardless of whether this 4runner is an sr-5, determining what options an sr-5 was delivered with is not as easy as stating, "mine had such and such, this one doesn't, therefore it isn't one". my '87 sr-5 does not have power windows, nor rear heat (it was,in fact, a rear seat delete model). it does have the two-compartment center console, tach, inclinometer, and other options.

All SR5 from 1984-1987 had inclinometers and tachometer gauge. That is the biggest determination in showing a factory SR5 vs a fake.

If you scroll all the way to the bottom it mentions that is had 1 respray and "year correct" decals added, along with OME suspension upgrades. I doubt it's an SR5, my guess is just a sticker kit.

it should have had at least some or one of those options to claimed as an SR-5, i only said what mine had (also had the sunroof)...

...and incorrect rear bumper, that chrome rear bumper is for a 3rd gen pickup.

Nah, that's period correct bumper. It's rare though. It's the pick up style bumper, I believe these are out fitted on super base model 4runner with out a towing kit.

I can tell you first hand it is mint

I can say for a fact it is mint. Yes it has old man emu 2" left. Yes it may not be an sr5. Plan to run vin soon. . My dxl had no carpet in cargo. I believe its the only option it has. I know this because i just bought it. It drives and rides great super tight. And yes the under body is dirty. It has not been restored just resprayed in '09. Miles are real and documented on title as so. This is my second 1gen and my sixth toyota. I also have an 77 fj40. Also paid much less than listed.

x2 it's a very sharp truck. Any plans to add a soft top?

I do plan to get a soft top. Not sure what other mods i may make yet. Thanks for the congrats. I bought it not caring if its a sr5 or not. My only wish was to replace the one i had sold a few years ago. This will more than likely not see any heavy off roading. I have my Fj40 for that. Im getting older and after buy a fixer upper time and time again, am very pleased to have bought one with minimal maintenance after all these years.

Its not an sr5. However have been mulling over removing all identifying decals, And only adding trd badges. To grill and rear, maybeeach side under the 4runner badge. Also 33' tires. Seem a but empty in the wheel wells with 31'

Ran out of water, overheated (slightly)

Replaced all of the fluids and now running a little rough on start up. Runs great when warmed up. No water in lthe oil, no water leaks at pressure. What kind of damage, if any, could have happened?

Thanks in advance...

I put an ebay purchased TRD grill badge on mine. The TOYOTA script was missing already. Though TRD existed in the '80s i'm not sure it fits the 80s vibe my truck has.
