Accessory controls through Alpine head unit?

I searched the forum, but didn't pull anything up, so I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with this. Seems like a really clean way to add lights and lockers and keep the interior looking stock. Thoughts?

I think i like it, the only thing that troubles me is what if the head unit goes down for some reason? Then you can not operate anything.

That and the compatible head units are pricey. Like $1200.

I can't tell if it's a new product that hasn't had a lot of exposure yet, or if it's just not that great in practice, but it's hard to dig up info about it.

It's "cool" and seems to work well once you set it up. I think most would still just prefer a more traditional switch but if you are wiring a lot of things up it definitely is a much cleaner alternative to switches everywhere. And like you said the radio compatibility is limited.

That's awesome. I think in time more and more manufacturers will start moving in that direction with off-road vehicles, since the Tesla-ish touchscreen controls are getting popular.

so you also need a idatalink maestro to use this?

looking at the product, it has 8 channels of negative trigger.
if you guys are familiar with alarms, this should be easy to wire up, most alarms do negative trigger for trunk release, 2nd starter and 2nd accessory.
