So a couple of days ago a guy at my work had subs put in his truck and was throwing out his old set up. I told him I would take it and see what I could do, seemed like a low cost way to get some bump. He had a Kenwood KSC-SW1 he was throwin out with the harness cut about 3 1/2 feet from the sub. Is there anyway I could install this into my 3rd gen with a stock headunit? Let it be known that I am a complete novice when it comes to wiring. I know how to tap wires together but thats about it. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

Thanks riceandpho for pointing me in the right direction. After reviewing the manual it seems that taping into the rear speakers is the only way to connect, since there is a factory amplifier. My sub has a cut harness so I will have 2 taps per wire, will this cause any interference or problems? Would I be better off to just purchase a new harness from Kenwood?

i installed a powered sub about 4 weeks ago. feel free to pm or ask any questions if you get stuck on the install
