Add USB Connection?

theyre is a toyota usb kit for like 150 that is universal for a lot of the current 2010 toyota models. Here is one on ebay for $233
Theyre are also other brand ones for $50 or less. I am guessing that the 2010 4runner has the same standard plug for the cable kit, its the exact same kit for all newer toyotas. I bet you could get the dealer to buy you the kit and install it for under 300.
I have to go to my dealer tomorrow, I will ask about it if i remember, I am thinking about buying the cheap off brand kit and putting one in myself, but at the same time the AUX plug works well

Thanks! I've seen those kit's, I just want to be sure it will connect to my receiver. I'm trying to get my hands on an owners manual for it as the 4Runner manual isn't too specific. Not sure if it's a Toyota or XM question to find the manual to see what kind of connections are on my receiver.

I am the same way, I have the base radio so I dont know if they have a setup for xm or not, I am guessing they do, but I would be sure before you spend the cash. If your gonna do the install yourself you could just go ahead and take the radio out and look
I have XM built into my receiver, I just need to know what kind of connections it will take (USB cable for Ipod?) and if it does will it then diplay my Ipod on the receiver once connected? My guess is it will be awhile before this kind of info is available considering the newness of the 10 4Runner.

I'm not trying to rain on your new purchase or attack you or anything like that, but it seems as though you kind of got hosed on your 4R (for lack of a better word). From what I can remember, I think we paid roughly the same price yet I have the USB port and steering wheel audio controls and I even have the pearl color. I guess it just seems that we should have very very similar 4R's considering the price paid (from what I gather on these threads). It just seems weird to me, that's all.

Probably a difference of a few hundred dollars.
The OP probably has the base radio and you could have the upgraded one with BT and the USB port or the JBL, which is probably a few hundred more on the sticker.
The pearl white, IIRC, is $200 more.
Depending on region where you're located it could account for the few hundred or couple thousand of dollars.
Where I live, buying a car in the city vs. across the bay or just outside of the city can easily amount to a thousand dollar difference, possibly more. The further away from the city the cheaper cars are. The reason is real estate/property tax is expensive in the city, not to mention there's a minimum wage ordinance in the city that's $3 above state minimum wage.
