adding amp to stock HU, RCA question....

I've looked around a little and didn't find a good answer to my question...

To those of you that have added an amp to the factory HU, how did you get your RCA's to wire the input to the amp?

I have the el cheapo system in the SR5 model.

I have used line level converters in the past but I'm not a big fan of them. The amp does not have speaker level inputs on it.

I was kind of hoping for a nice wiring harness trick or plug in solution or something similar. At this time upgrading the stock HU is not an option. For my wife's listening preferences, all that is needed right now is to add a woofer.

Any suggestions?

I was at an audio store the other day before I upgraded my head unit. They said they would need to buy a plug that converts the RCA so they can plug in the amp to my head unit.

I think thats what you were asking for.

Anyone here ever use one of these plugs?

Never used one but he showed me and it was like $15.

I think the harness for the 4runner may be theTWH950.
