Adding an USB outlet for In-Dash -- where would you mount it?

So I picked this up : Amazon.com: PAC USBCBL 6-Feet USB Cable with Mounting Bracket: Car Electronics

For a Pioneer in-dash that I am installing. Just wondering if anyone has installed one on their 4runner, and where they mounted it. I was hoping to find something that would fit one of the blank switches, but couldn't seem to find anything.

At the moment I'm thinking about drilling into one one the consoles to mount this, just wanted to see if anyone had any better ideas.

If you're going to drill, I'd recommend below the hazard button.

I have a dual-USB plug in one of the two outlets that I added. I use it constantly.

Why not keep it hidden? I have mine routed to glove box.

Mine was routed where telum has his, but on the opposite side (since it's not 4wd ) but I moved it to the center console, near the 110v outlet, so the cable isn't in the way.

I put mine in the center console also. That way the wires are out of the way and the ipod is in the console at all times.

I don't have ass warmer :biggrin2:, so i got the USB mounted next to the DAC switch. This spot is very convenient to me since it is close to the flip out tray, where my phone is placed there

Nice! I'll probably be using the same spot -- kind of wish it wasn't curved in that area, but oh well! I use the pocket as well to keep my phone in there.

I dont have a usb mount, i have a usb cable coming off the deck routed to the center console. I read the original post to fast and didnt realize you asked about an actual usb port.

You could just get the USB devices that plug into the cigarette lighter. I know some people get the 'smokers kit' for their 4runner so they can have an extra outlet.

Find one that is a low-profile so it's not sticking out too much
