Adding tweeters to factory speakers

I ordered the Alpine 6x9s. They are expected to arrive Feb 3. I hoping you'd have them installed by now. lol

Hi there Mr GRIMACE!!

I had planned on installing the "SPR-69's" on Sat but my wife's camery has an electrical issue with the radio coming on overnight, and has killed her battery "TWICE"! So the one warm day that we had here in NJ was spent working on that issue lol! ...so, idk! Is it warm where you live?

To those in need of dash and front door speaker wire color codes...

Order is as follows: Dash tweeters, RF= YEL (NEG), RF= PNK (POS), LF= BLU (NEG), LF= Lt GRN (POS)

Here are some follow-up thoughts now that I'v lived with the "added" tweeters. Let's start with sound quality. The tweeters make a huge improvement in every aspect of the dismal JBL system. I can now hear the missing cymbals but as an added bonus, all the music comes into focus. Vocals are better defined and better placed. The bass and mids also have better definition and better impact. I won't over-hype this but if you have a Limited w JBL and are looking for what's missing, this is worth exploring before you consider more expen$ive and invasive alternatives. The factory crossover's do send high signals to the dash. The tweeters are wired w bass blockers according to the information above and they're working well and sound to be in-phase. The small enclosure's are mounted to the speaker grill's with a single screw so I can pivot the toe in. The tweeter itself can also rotate in the enclosure for even more control of the dispersion. What else? I did fade the speakers 2 clicks toward the back but the EQ is all flat. My source is my iPhone via the usb. FM and Sirius still sound horrible. The tweeters got better after about a week, and this is pretty easily and inexpensively reversed.

I'm now looking forward to the traffic on the way home. If I do anything else to the system it will be sound deadening.
