Adjusting odometer

At some point my 4runner has the dash cluster replaced with one with a lot less miles. I bought it with a C box title also saying that the mileage wasn't accurate, so I knew that before I bought it. Through some research I found out about how many miles are on it. Is there a way to adjust the odometer? I know it's illegal to roll it back most places but I actually want to roll it forward so its closer to accurate just because it bothers me.

If your title says that the mileage is actually greater than what's on the odometer and you roll it forward, then if you decide to sell it wouldn't a potential buyer assume that it's even higher than the reading? Not familiar with the exact legalities, but unless you can get that taken off your title I wouldn't roll it forward. It could even factor in if the truck gets written off at some point and the mileage gets factored into the insurance payout.
