Advice on changing wheel bearings.

Really Im just trying to figure out what all parts I need to purchase. Kinda hard to find good info on changing wheel bearings on the forum.

It looks like I need the bearing, snap rings, seals, and nuts. For anyone who has done this, is that correct? Im going off of camelback Toyotas link.

No nuts needed. I reused my snap rings, and if you can remove the old seals carefully, you can reuse them too.

The new bearings are sealed so it is not critical to change the seals in my opinion.

Plus the fact that the seals are stupid expensive.

Like Singtoe I did my own bearings and took pictures along the way. If his picture guide doesn't help (it's what I followed) I documented mine in my 97 build thread with some pictures too. Maybe that will give some reference. Regards and good luck on it.

Buy new wheel bearing, remove the complete spindle, take to whatever shop you trust to do it, i took mine to an engine shop. Pay the $20 to $40. Re-install spindle. save your headache for the next morning because you spent your time drinking beers instead of pressing in a wheel bearing.

And I have a 12 ton press and it is still easier to just pay someone to do it.

Awesome, thanks singtoe. I was going to order all the parts I mentioned until thinking maybe I should ask someone who has actually done it first.

That's exactly what Im planning on doing. I don't have the tools to press the bearing in/out. And Im changing about 1200 in front end parts, so I figured taking the whole spindle/hub off would be the easiest way to go.
