That is not the case in Oklahoma. You don't pay tax or title at the dealership. You go to an Oklahoma tag agency within 30 days of purchase. State law. All other "fees" are included in the out the door price I provided.

I think just about ALL the add ons are garbage. The Vehicle Shield Package and Extra Mile Option A or whatever are pure cash in the distributor/dealers pocket.
Problem is if you look at dealer inventory for the "Gulf Coast Distributer" states (i.e., TX, AR, OK, etc) they basically all have this garbage. What a racket. I told the initial dealer I would not pay for these out of principle, however, I gave up. I do think the price was low enough that I didn't really "pay" for them.

Fine, but keep in mind that this forum is comprised of people all over U.S. (Canada and other countries also), not just Oklahoma.
If you're looking for opinions on the deal that you made, then make sure the total price you paid is clear. Saying that you paid $XXXXX "out the door" would make most people think that was the total price you paid, including taxes, tags, fees, etc...

If it makes you feel any better, I think you got an average deal, especially considering that you purchased a 2wd 4Runner. From what I've seen, dealers are more willing to negotiate a lower price on 2wd versions simply because they are not as sought after as 4wd 4Runners.

This is out of my control and will be what it is. Not sure of the tax rate or registration fees are. It IS NOT based on sale price but on the value ascertained from the VIN. I just pay them when I tag and title.

You can make it clearer by not stating an "out the door" price when most people know that as the total vehicle price including tax, tags, and fees. Pretty simple, huh?

Be sure to add the bogus add on's (you are correct to call them garbage) to the amount over invoice line as most have no real value and are simply dealer profit. If the dealer profit % row is between 3-5% you and the dealer both got a fair deal.
After the 3-5% deal was negotiated, you should have got the current $2,000 cash rebate, which is pure cash in your pocket and should have brought you way below invoice.
