That grill is crazy. I still want to do a Satosh at some point, just need to find a 96-2000 grill and some time.

Just fyi you need a 96-98 grille. The 99-00 grille is similar but would require a lot more body work to make it look good.

Also swapped out the amber bulbs in the LED tails with LED and load reistors:

Have LED's for the front turn signals to do the same thing. But I may figure something out with strip LED DRLs when I do my projector retrofit that is sitting on my desk.
Then I rebuilt the drum brakes with new drums (Wagner), shoes (Raybestos), and components (Raybestos). Along with new bell-crank and other E-brake pieces from Amazon.
Then I put a switch for the powered antenna, and lubed it up a bunch. Fiance uses cell phone AUX input on head unit and it's always up and down and getting weather for no reason mainly, until I use it and turn the radio on.
Just wired up that switch, and drilled a little hole to put through.
Here is a pic of when we were in Breck a few weeks ago for a trip. I'm really looking forward to swapping the amber corners back in with black housings when I do the retro. The black with clear corners looks a little too 'washed out' for me.

And baked my OEM headlights and corners and dremel'd some material to install my mini D2S projectors.
Got them fitted, and the shrouds modified to fit (Apollo 3.0 is huge). Now just have to paint the housings, shrouds, corners. I also got some LED switchback strips to do a strip along inside edge and bottom edge of headlight.

The apollo 3.0 shrouds are too big, and you can see them bow out when they are installed.
So I dremel'd them down. I may get some different shrouds, but for now i'm going to go this route.

Man, it's wicked good looking. Impressive tech savvy. I envy that.
My Golden Retriever insists on front passenger's seat. I've prepared the cargo area just for her only to see her climbing over the rear seats and assuming co-pilot seating right beside me. It's perhaps the only time she's disobedient so I gave in.

Right on, where in? Boulder is fun. I'm finishing up grad school in May, and currently looking for jobs. Would like to get back the northwest where I'm from, but I'd also be cool settling in CO for awhile.
I need to pick up some JB weld and foil tape for the lights, and hopefully get them painted and adjusted this weekend. I am putting an LED strip in them, and I'm trying to find a short one that I can put in my corner lights to, so it'll probably be a couple weeks or so.
Thanks! Weimaraners are spazzes, so I had to rig the back up for him. If it wasn't for the window rolling down so he could look out, he'd just be panicking the whole time. 4Runners are the perfect dog trucks for that reason.

Chances are around here, if you were to just blindly throw a rock, you'd hit either a Subaru, Audi, Saab, or a 4Runner.
Surprisingly my dog has zero interest in the back window, and the one or two times she's had to ride in the front seat really made her nervous. Her favourite spot is sitting behind the drivers seat like a person.

Been slowly prepping and painting headlight stuff. Easy-off'd the housings and shrouds, and painted them with satin black. Wet sanded 400 grit the housings, and repainted.
Taped the Apollo 3.0 shrouds only on periodic sections, then painted them silver. It's a Perfect Match Toyota silver.
Tomorrow I'm going to lay some clear coat on the shrouds (black and silver).
I also didn't like that the 100mm xB LED halos didn't fill the vents in the shroud, and TRS said 110 won't fit, but I measured and I think I can stuff the 110mms in there. So I ordered those, in the meantime I'll get the projectors installed and aimed.
I also put a single coat of night shades on the amber corner amber section only, then i'm going to clear and wet sand the whole corner lens. Separated and painted the inside black to match the housings.

I didn't like how the 100mm halo was too small, so I orderd a 110 mm halo. That was a tad too big, so I stuck the too together to get a fatty 100-110mm halo. I had to sand them to get them to fit together, then put a little JB weld on them.
Fired up the projectors and tested on my wall just to make sure they looked alright and fired.
mmm ... cutoff ..
JB Weld'd the halos in, and put aluminum foil around the projector. Ran the wires (for 2 halos per headlight and brights-actuator, JB weld'd shrouds to projector.
Fired up halos again to make sure they work, and tested the light strips. Open to opinions, but I don't think I'm going to use the strips. I think it's a cool idea, if done right, and good money is spent. But the strips are different color than the halos, and they barely cutoff the bottom of the light. Also with the black housings, the white strips look tacky.
So I was thinking I would use them for foot-well lighting, or under seat lighting.
Any both strips had a "break" in the amber, not sure if the amber bulbs burn out easier, or what, but they were only $20 on amazon ..
A different configuration
Will seal glass this week, and hopefully have them done this weekend

Got the lights installed, but I didn't have a long enough philips to adjust them! So that'll wait for tomorrow. I hooked my halos to the corner lights. After I was all done, I saw a tiny little butyl slop on the bottom of the housing. SON OF A. Oh well, I may pull them apart at some point in the future to fix it.

I've got a set of 12" amber strips I'm going to finally install this week. I hope you will like the unique results.
One thing that made me tense up a bit is the fact that you jb welded the shrouds onto the projector. I've taken mine apart several times and for that reason alone i suggest other methods for the shroud . I'm sure yours will be fine but it is a very perminent design.

I was thinking maybe you could night shade the strips, or rig something up to cover them up. Also the temperature didn't match my halos.
Ya I saw that in your retrofit thread about not welding them on. I agree, if they are 'clicked' into the holes they are pretty secure. I had to modify the shrouds to fit in the housings, adn when I did it I didn't take into account the direction pointing down and the rotation they have to be to click in. So mine wouldn't click after I modified them. So I wanted to make sure they didn't come off. I could have got some new ones, but I didn't care that much. I don't mind that they are permanent, I don't plan on taking projectors apart anytime. I'd probably just sell the whole lights and do a different projector or something next time, if there is a next time.
