Aeroneer1's Black 2001 Build Thread

Headed out of Colorado for Oregon while we get married and I look for a job. Here is a pic in southern Utah.

Truck ran awesome, changed the oil and cleaned the MAF before I left. The rear coils definitely squished down quite a bit with all our junk in the back, dog, bike on the back, and box on top.

My clever idea for the door moulding around the zip ties in the Satoshi was shot when huge wind gusts started pushing it out. So I'm going to remove the molding and carefully snug up the zip ties and call it good.

Then I've been meaning to clean up the emblems in back, but when I pulled them off the adhesive destroyed the paint under them. So I just bit the bullet and sanded the areas down, and I'm going to paint and clear coat them, and paint the license plate bezel while I'm at it.

Then I ordered just a 4x4 and a TRD emblem to put on back.

My buddy has my exact 4runner only bone stock, with some dents. Took some pictures side by side.

And finished my emblems and painting/buffing

Great looking T4R man..always been a big fan of the blacked out look..got myself a silver runner but def wanna starting blacking out some parts..also digging the CF dash pieces..

Thanks dude. Been busy moving to Seattle and working a new job so I haven't had much time to tinker with the runner. My wife gave me a timing belt and water pump kit for Christmas though, so that'll change soon.

I literally just daily-drive the thing in hardcore Seattle traffic every day haha! Though I did get to go play in the snow a bit:

Thanks! Ya I'm pretty tame compared to most on this board, but I try to keep her clean where it counts. Just finished the timing belt/water pump, drive belts, radiator hoses, steering rack bushings, inner/outer tie rods and boots, lowered the front just a bit, and had an alignment.

Now it's just down to saving for a some armor, but that's a slow process in this city!

Ya I've been meaning to get some fresh pics to with my new wheels and overall stance. Just put a new battery and marine terminals, upgraded gauge of ground to body, and fresh connectors on stock wiring. Big-3 looked like too much work for not much reward.

It's like the most standard ~$40 on Amazon Prime if I remember correctly.

What bumper you looking at?

If I could order it tomorrow, I'd probably go for the CBI or 4xInnovations. But I'd also be open to a Savage or an Addicted OR. Kind of will just depend on cost of powder coating, shipping, etc.

The CBI is sick, and like the 4XInno/Addicted. I currently have the Savage Hybrid and it is just meh, for me. I don't think it looks bad in pics, just not a big fan IRL.

Shockworks front bumper is nice too, plate, looks like the CBI kinda.

Hey man, the projectors look awesome. I used to have 2.5" shroud and then changed to 3" and I was afraid that they wouldn't fit like yours. But you made it work and they look great. Mine also have the turn signal switchback and I love it.

Gotta love automotive lighting.

IDK. Hated it when I got it and still not (stand on my head, blow sparks out my ass) super happy with it, but I think its growing on me some.

Ya the 3.0" projector will fit, but it just depends on which shroud you get. I wanted to get the fatties cuz our headlight housings are so gigantic. I figure they are only to cover up the projector anyway, so however they fit, as long as they are nicely tucked down into the housing should be fine.

Your lights and your truck looks awesome. Definitely checked out your build a few times.

I dunno, I'm not that picky with this kind of stuff. I think it looks sick.

I'm 90% mall crawler myself anyway, so an offroad bumper would mostly just give me peace of mind if I got into a fender bender on a packed I5 in Seattle.
