That was one of my thoughts too...however, my stock intake whistles with an aFe performance filter and that has a ton of baffles! I guess it would have to do with sound though...Dlak any input since you were the tester?

I drove with that intake on for a good 2000+ miles and had no whistling...

So, who besides the original tester is going to be the guinea pig?? I want to hear some more real world reviews and thought before I buy.

This unit looks much better then the TRD IMHO. I am really interested in how this unit installs and sounds compared to the TRD. I would imagine the "gains" being similar with either one, just want the best build quality and easy of filter cleaning, which it appears the AFE wins in opeing the unit up.

these units looks sweet ... but it would really be nice if you could see some proof of some real world hp and torque gains .. companies like afe and k and n have been boasting about huge gains from their filters for yrs but all the ones i have had made no real world difference ...

I've returned my TRD Performance Enhancement System or whatever they call it, so I'm ready to pounce.

I'm all over the aFe if its an open system like my K&N. I agree with Black T, anyone for tech writeup?

I'm sure this flows better but it means nothing and I won't buy without seeing some actual data on this or any other intake.
