My sister took the 4 runner in because she smelled gas so they changed the fuel cap. It is so hard to twist off and impossible for her, said screw this and ordered one from toyotaonlineparts.com. figured they used after market manufacturer cap and genuine toyota cap would give no trouble since first never did for 16 years. I also ordered a new radio knob since original one broke, cost around $7.50 :cry2:. Tried to glue cap but that little metal thing twisted and for some reason none of the buttons would work until the knob was removed.:redface: you my think the prices are crazy but 4 runner only 120k miles has a lot if life left:first: so might as well give it best. :wink2:

The stem cracked in 3 places so glued one piece to the steam. It worked for awhile but not anymore. :surfer:

What kind of glue did you use? Did you allow it to cure for the glue manufactures specification ? Was it on a Tuesday or Friday? How did it make you feel when it failed after the attempted fix?

Grollie glue, it was almost a year before reinstalled it. Been stuck in bed from Aug until March unable to walk. Had a disc infecting 3 nerves in my left leg, had surgery july and been rehabing since. Failed knob didn't upset me not being able to switch stations or anything else did but now can. Don't remember day it broke haven't been driving just passenger. :yo:

He was repairing the stem just before going to bed. Probably got some GORILLA glue on himself before going off to bed. The poor guy GORILLA glued himself to his mattress.

Literally STUCK in bed.
