Aftermarket alternator?

Has anyone purchased any aftermarket direct bolt H.O. alternators for their 4gen t4r? If so, what amp rating is it at idle & highway, how much, where was bought & have u noticed a difference?

I'm in search of @ least 125 amp. I know my 2006 V8 is stock w a 90 amp. I'm installing a stereo set up that will need @ 65 amps @ the rms wattage for my 2 amps. So the stock ain't gonna cut the mus****!

Any input will be greatly appreciated!

I was doing some research on dual batteries and found Mean Green
2007-03 4-RUNNER 4.7L
however I found the stock one should be 130amp don't know about at idle
but i figure the stock one would do ok for me.
one other thing I saw was a gm alternator ( don't remember which one) would fit with a wiring adapter
hope this helps

Bump.....

Thanks crashman, I did find out from Toyota that the 2003-2009 models are factory equipt with 130 amp alternators. Don't know what then idle amperage will be.

Now this makes me super excited cause my 98 has a 70 amp alt on it.....boo!!!! This six for my stereo, but it won't suck one I have it installed in my 2006!!!!!!!

I hope this may help some of you guys in the future.

do the big 3 upgrade with 1 or 0 guage wires, depends on how old the battery is, u can get a bigger one, sears die hard platinum 31m , its gona fit, agm, and cheaper than the oddysee, i myself have the oddysee pc1700mjt in the engine, and the diehard 31m in the back.

I already have 0ga, I plan on doin the big 3 upgrade. I was just trying to find out what the stock amps were to see if was gonna need to upgrade the alt. Also I have a 1.5 farad cap also. I may do a second Batt. I have an opitima yellow top. Im pretty sure Ill be good to go. Ill measure the amp draw once I have the system installed. Im still in the planning stages of everything. I pretty much have all the equip I need.

i suggest you to get rid of the cap, and use a second battery, even a oddysee 680 is stronger than the cap. caps do more harm then help.

I never heard that?
how do the caps hurt?
I have a 2 farad cap next to my amps.
I was planning on a 2nd battery also.
should i take out my cap?

Capacitors are worthless and promoted by uneducated installers and bros.

How much power is your system putting out? I have over 3k RMS and no issues. Then again I'm not blasting hood music like those ghetto riced out civics all the time.

Don't tell me you went with Sony XPlod garbage.

I have Rockford p500 for the sub ( rockford 10" )and p400 for the rest
I wondered why the cap was cheap lol
wish i knew this before i could of saved space!
the 2nd battery was going to be for a winch when I get that far.
I was watching my friends jeep lights dim when he was using his winch and thought i would benefit from a 2nd battery to be safe

That's 900 Watts. You'll be fine with stock wiring and battery for your audio system, brah.

thanks Clockwork!
will it hurt to leave the cap? or... its burried under the amp but i will take it out if it will be bad.
sorry last question
