Aftermarket black headlights - review and lots of pics

The only thing i think why the sport and sr5/limited have different part numbers for the headlights is that the sports are "smoked" chrome. So the lights may have a slightly different color and hence a different part number. Other than that they lights should fit, I see no reason why toyota would manufacture different fitment headlights for a sport edition.

I think you are right all of my research has pointed me to the same conclusion, the headlights are smoked chrome on the sport edition same with the grills.

They look great, man! I got the same ones from eBay vendor racing_guys. They arrived in a couple of days and I went straight into installing them. I was surprised by the fitment. I was a little skeptical buying cheap aftermarket headlights but boy they fit PERFECTLY! They look amazing. Here's a pic of it on mine:

Great pics and write up. I don't understand the comments suggesting that at $200 one might expect to take a bath on these. Two hundred dollars is a lot of money, and should buy a quality product that lasts and doesn't leak.

Oh I thought you had purchased the 06+ projectors in black. I'm planning on doing a conversion of my headlights to projectors and possibly a satoshi grill mod on my 04.

Nice, love the combo. I'm trying to decide what to do with my grille to match my satin black headlights...

Those look really nice. I just install some for my 05 (non-projector) about a month ago. Love the black on silver look.

Not sure if it was needed, but I read that it was a good precaution.

I have come to the same conclusion and would love a set of these for my 2006 SE. Has anyone here put them on a SE? Would love to here about your results.

I'll try and remember tonight. Now, I never ran the OEM bulbs in these projectors but with HIDs in them I don't think they compare to the OEM housings/lighting. I'll get one at night.

just to put it out there, the op was referring to the lights from dt moto which supposedly have projectors made with german componets & are slightly better quality than depo, & others. ive had at least 3 different brands of aftermarket ones on the 4r & imo, these are very close in quality to OEM, just hope the UV coating lasts as long & doesnt start peeling off after a year. that said its best to run a bead of silicone on any aftermarket lights before install just to play it safe.
