Aftermarket black headlights - review and lots of pics

Mine are doing the same thing. Guess you get what you pay for on these. I plan on sanding them down and then polishing and applying a new coat of clear.

Let me know what kind of clear and what kind of prep you do. I'm not sure that any ordinary clear for plastics is going to work with the UV exposure. Maybe there's something out there specifically for headlight lenses. I hope.

Yeah I watched a video not long ago, a guy just wet sanded with 1500 then 2000 then coated with aerosol auto clear coat.

before the damage starts use this, or at least something like it. Diamondite® Clear Plastic Liquid Armor seals and protects clear plastic headlight lens covers. After polishing headlights, protect headlights with

For whatever its worth, here's a pic of what my headlights look like. If you look carefully, you'll see what looks like water spots - that's the clear layer peeling off.

Chinese $40 from a kit and genuine $180 for good Phillips bulbs they are miles apart in performance.

i use chineese hid kit for past 5 years and never paid a penny more,they give 2 year warranty on it and they stop working after around 1.9 years so i exchange them for free and free shipping.....you do the math..and they are all bright.....

New Lenses Installed

Purchased from CarID, it appears I paid a tad more than you guys for the same product. It looks great! Fitment was pretty good, the seal on one of them was just slightly mislocated, but I don't think its going to be a problem.

I bought the DT Motoring black headlights about 2 months ago. Unfortunately, I had to return them. My refund actually just came through yesterday. After two months, one had pretty bad moisture inside and both had black plastic melting around the projector bulb. I just dropped the extra cash on OEMs. The good news is that they have excellent customer service. They only have a 30 day warranty but the accepted them back for a full return (I had to pay shipping). I can't seem to post pictures from my cell phone so I will try to post from a computer tomorrow

I'm hoping I don't have any problems like melting or the clear lens losing its clear like some of you guys. I also hope the driver side bulb will fit in without any trimming. I purchased these headlights on Amazon for $177 and it supposedly have a 10year limited warranty.
