I feel for you... My 2014 SR5 Premium with non-JBL had similar issues last year. Although I had an iphone 4s. They tried pushing me down the path of 'your phone is really old, you need a new one', but i found a TSB here, printed it and brought it in for them to update the software. After that it worked great. I got an iPhone 6 in march or april this year, and still worked great.... Until today (that's why i'm here in the forum searching again). Today the GPS froze in mid-nav. I had to hold the power button in to do a hard reset/reboot. The unit came back on, GPS was unfroze, but the phone would not connect. I tried to connect the bluetooth from the phone and from the head unit, to no avail. I rebooted several times, never connected. I arrived at my destination and just gave up. Will see what happens when I leave.
I've had it wit the entune. When I bought my truck last year, I replaced all the speakers, added 2 amps and a sub, but kept the stock head unit. I have a 2009 Kenwood DNX6150 (i think that's the model) that I pulled from my FJ Cruiser when I changed cars. I'm going to put that thing in and call it a day. My wife will be thrilled that I will spend $100 in installation parts, and 1/2 day in the garage, but I can't deal with his f...ng entune anymore.
