Aftermarket stereo whining

Hi to all, newbie here. I have a JBL system and I was putting in a Scion head unit that has Bluetooth, IPod hookup and HD radio. I put in a scosche adapter to convert the Scion harness to the JBL system. Everything is working on the radio however, there is a high pitch whine and the base is over driving in the speakers, and all of this happens with the key tuned to ACC and the truck not running. :help:Help please, I am at my wits end.:frusty:

first I'd try turning down the bass level through the HU, not sure if you've tried that or not. It's a fine line between how much bass you want and actual speaker volume output.

my second thought, initially, is the RCAs being run alongside the power wires, but sounds like that is not the case here.

I had the same issue on my old XJ. I went back thru and put loom on all my rcas and my power wires all the way to my battery. This solved my problem

i eliminated the RCA connectors and insulated all soldered connections. I put back the factory steeo and no whine at all. Any other sugestions?
