If you feel like you want to go with stock - I've got a 5th gen touchscreen/nav/etc. (out of a 2012 trail) that is just sitting around.

I see where people on the forum have discussed where to put the aftermarket mic. I just put mine in the same spot as the factory mic. Remove the overhead console and the factory mic will easily move out of place. I used the factory mic to wedge the new mic in place.

Edit (5/24/14): I was having issues with Siri (as in, it never understood me) when driving on the interstate, so I put in some open cell foam around the mic, over the slots, etc. to deaden the road noise. Hope it works (probably won't).

Okay. The so called 'Party mode' really has nothing to do with the HU; with the exception of one ground wire which activates a H.P.Filter that's built-into the stock pre-amp. But it's true function is to configure the speaker system in the truck (regardless of what HU you choose to install) so it will operate regardless of your sound system choice. If you have a four channel HU in the deck and the correct speaker adapter harness connected to the factory's speaker harness, you should have all eight speakers working when the party mode button is set to be inoperative; button in the OFF position! Pressing the button IN should disconnect the rear door speakers. Pressing the button a second time (i.e. OUT) should reconnect the rear door speakers! So... assuming that you have the correct adapter harness in place, your speakers should behave the way described above.

If you have no sound at the rear doors at any time, I would first check for speaker relay operation. With the engine off: Close all of the truck's windows and roof; this is so you will be able to hear (audibly) the relays operating. Put the ignition switch in accessory mode. With the audio system on with the sound turned all the way down, push the PM button in... you should hear a soft click on the passenger side coming from the kick panel below the glovebox... that's the sound of the speaker configuration relays pulling in. Push the button again and you should hear them gently dropping out (very soft click) as you de-energize them. This test was just to see if you have relay operation. If you do, then your next step should be to confirm the speaker wiring harnesses, making sure that all speakers are wired to your HU. Here's a wiring diagram to show which wires go where:

Does anyone know the 4 wire colors I am looking for to tap into the rear speakers for a Line Out Converter on a 2016 4R SR5 Premium Entune w/Nav no JBL? I thought I read they can be accessed from the Driver side door sill, not sure if it was front of back.

I am actually looking at the same thing for a 2011 SR5. A local installer has made a couple of recommendations on the phone. I plan to go see him next week to see what we can do.

Additionally, I saw a 2013 with the power acoustiks headrest DVD players installed. The included leather wraps were a very close match to the stock leather interior.

Well the installation is finally complete. Very few minor bugs to fix. Carbon fiber wrap needs some work. Might just have to paint the trims. Overall, great HU. Need to explore more functions.

I found the dash kit you used finally, and the Alpine accessory module. Just need to find the manuals for it and the head unit to plan out an install. I can not stand the Entune system, it is the bane of my existence.

oh yes. It would fit with no issues. You actually get more features with the idatalink like park assist when backing up and more.

Zapco... there's a name I havent heard in years. Had a Studio 500 on Focal 15's in highschool, and its no wonder I'm deaf at 35

I did the loud thing years ago. I compete sound quality now, much easier on the ears.

you got a link to any of the install guides? Alpine seems to have gone the route of "you're just a pleb, we only want underpaid idiots at CarToys installing our equipment" and not posting any install info online =/

I can't find any installation guides for this install especially when it's an 8 inch display HU. I used the OEM Head unit mounts to install the x208u. If are familiar with installing aftermarket units, this should be piece of cake.

I used the PAC Audio RP4.2-TY11 harness. I'm thinking the driver display must have received the compass information from the nav unit which is now disconnected.

Hi I am trying to use the factory OEM backup camera to connect to my aftermarket HU. Can you please explain how you guys did it? On the HU side I have female RCA video IN and ground. How do I connect to the car harness. Please help

Pioneer makes a good radio with apple play you don’t need nav with it I bought one great system I also have 3000 watts in it I love to rock Bluetooth fits nice rear view cam I sell for aliving and install any other ?? Ask I will help you
