Aftermarket sunroof guys, headliner question...

Hey, you guys with aftermarket sunroofs, when you touch your headliner around where it was re-shaped and lowered for the sunroof mechanism/tracks, does it feel hollow behind the fabric around the edges, like they just cut the backing, peeled the headliner fabric back, and stretched it over to make it look like it was "shaped" but it's just hollow?

Or, does it have some structure behind it?

C'mon, someone go poke around at your headliner and tell me if it has soft areas or if it's all supported behind the fabric....... :biggrin2:

Yes - and I've wondered the same thing

I know this is an old thread, but yes, mine is like that as well. It's like it's molded out of really thin plastic near the sunglasses case, and then the fabric is stretched at an angle off of there.

I try to not look at it, quite frankly.

If I had known my 2005 T4R had an aftermarket sunroof when I bought it, I probably would not have gotten it and instead looked around for one with a factory unit.
