Age old Question....

Pretty new to the forum so I hope I don't get bashed :flamethrwoer2: too hard for this, because I did search long and hard. It seems that no one really has answer this specific question.

So lets get to it. I just bought my TE about a month ago and have been doing a lot of research on which are the best sliders for it. I have narrow down it down to 3. It seem these 3 are the most popular; NfAb silders, Shockworks, and the Budbuilt one.

I want one that does not require any drilling at all and just a simple bolt on. I live in the wonderful Windy City and we use a lot of salt in the winter/crazy city rain and I don't want the drill hole to rust. On Shockwork site it recommends drilling one 3/8" hole per side to install an additional bolt for off roading. I can't find any info for the NFab sliders or Budbuilt.

I read most of the builds and none really says if it just all bolt on or drilling involve. Any advice/help would be great :thanks:. Again sorry if I asked a tired age old question.

Looking to do more mods when I get more money and time.

My shrockworks were bolt on. The recommended bolt is only on one side from what i remember, but i did not install it anyways. Been off roading and had no problems.

I think the Rocky Road ones are more popular than the N-Fab ones. I know a number of people have the N-Fab step bars, but I'm not sure if I've seen anyone here with the N-Fab sliders. Any reason you ruled out Rocky Road (just curious)?

What about the beefy ones? Are they bolt on as well? I heard you have the beefy ones. Is that true? I heard it's not worth purchasing unless you get the beefy ones. Where's the Beef??

I looked into the Rocky Roads too and saw in some of the forums people said they can't use it as a step that well :nono:. Got little ones that I drive around sometimes wanted a little step. The Shockworks sticks out a little more I think. What do you think of yours? Easy no drill install? Thanks!

I am very happy with mine, at the time RR was the only one that made them that did not require mods to the 4R to fit (for the SR5). That said, I do believe the others do extend a bit further. I padded mine out with 3 plates where it mounts to the frame underneath. My wife uses it as a step and has no issues, bigger feet would though. Install was simple, no drilling required, used 2 hydraulic floor jacks.

Seems like I am leaning toward the Budbuilds, because there is another thread talking about the Shockworks drilling issue. Anyone with anymore inputs? Thanks again for all that responded.
