Air Lift 1000's with Lifted Rear End?

Anyone know if the #60809 Air Lift 1000 kit will work with a lifted rear end (1.5" or 2" coils, not a spacer lift)? Given that the kit is designed for use with stock springs, I'm worried that the bags won't be tall enough to fit properly with the taller coils. I can't find any mention of compatibilty with lifted vehicles on Air Lift's website...

I ordered a Toytec lift today and would like to get the bags installed in the new springs at the same time I'm doing the install next weekend.

Consdering the reason for using the Air bags in the first place, with the rear lift, are you sure your going to need them?

The airbags do very little lifting, mote like they help prevent sagging. Sounds like "bra talk". :lmao:

Ha!!! I think of them more like "spanx" for keeping the backside tight in a "chunky butt" situation but I like your style either way!

Jtraskell, to answer your question directly -- I don't haul a trailer very often (which is the typical reason that you'd want airbags installed, they provide additional support to keep the rear end from sagging under the excess weight of the trailer, they don't actually lift the rear of the vehicle at all). So no, I probably don't really "need" them. But, as far as I can tell there are no negatives to having them installed for normal driving conditions (and keeping them aired to 5 psi). Given that they're a fairly inexpensive addition (< $100 off the web), I'd rather install them when I have the rear end apart putting in the lift than wait until I need to haul a trailer and have to take the springs out again.

Looks like there are a couple of local RV dealers that carry the Air Lift products so I'll probably stop by and ask about the compatibility with a suspension lift (unless anyone can answer that question for me...).

I was not meaning to insinuate you were trying to install the bags because you wanted extra lift. I agree, it is really only for sag when towing. But since you were going to get a lift, with stronger springs (I presume), was unsure why you thought you needed them unless you are towing a fairly heavy tongue load. If its a coil spring of roughly the same inside diameter, I see no reason why it wouldn't work. The bag keeps the lower coils of the spring from compressing.

Ok, makes sense. I was thinking that it was the top/bottom of the air bag that was providing the additonal load support...
