Air intake question

Go to your local autozone and get those spectre high flow air intake systems. They sell individual piping and couplers so you can make your own setup. You can usually do the whole thing for about a hundred bucks. It's definitely gonna be cheaper than OEM. And you don't have to waste all your time to find parts. And to answer your question those are both 2nd gen runners so I would be inclined to say yes as long as they have the same engine.

Intakes are pretty cheap online too btw. Got mine for 33$

I always consider ordering the "ebay" intake.
anyone notice any decent gains from a short ram intake?

The factory intake is actually a "cold air" intake, drawing air in from behind the headlight, while all those cone filters draw hot air from inside the engine bay.
Also, even if you upgrade your intake, your MAF will still regulate the amount of air going into the engine, so your not getting any more air flow than with the stock system (assuming you have a good air filter)
Just get a quality filter for the stock air box, and dont waste your money getting caught up in flash "mods".

Having the intake behind the headlight and a windy, bendy, constricted intake may also slightly restricts induction. An aftermarket cone filter pulls in air from all directions. So it could go either way for sure, very debatable. Oh and having it behind the headlight makes it easier for mud/water to get into it.

Just don't try to ford headlight high water and you'll be OK. Once the filter gets wet they soak up the water and stall the engine. That's the problem with the Cold Air Intakes that mount behind the bumper. You're better off getting a snorkle.

i put a S&B cold air intake on my 94. It cost me about 200 but it came with a new pipe, filter, hoses and it holds the filter in a box to block heat. It fits very good and the instructions are very clear with pictures from an actual install on a 2nd gen runner. so slightly spendy but looks and sounds great and i couldnt be happier. hope this helps

^^^Something is missing in your picture. I know the coil wire is not connected. Could it be the fuel filter or ABS pump?

there actually could be something missing as i have a couple vaccuum lines that dont do anywhere but it still runs ok. it has been like that since before i got it. i will get a pic of the filter in and top on tomorrow it looks very nice and clean compared to the stock box

just saw this... whoever spotted "something missing" that looks like it was the vaf meter connector.
