Alarm Question: Toyota VIP Security System? ... Aftermarket?

I have discovered that my 2008 Sport Edition does not seem to have the factory alarm option. It does have a little flashing red light on the dash to the right, which is flashing when the ignition is off, whether the doors or locked or not. But I locked myself in the vehicle with the key fob, then opened the door -- no alarm.

We are about to take a long trip, with a rooftop car carrier. I want to install some kind of alarm, but I want it to go off in case of intrusion, but also due to motion (preferably with a sensitivity adjustment), so that if someone climbs up on the rear bumper to attempt to break into the rooftop carrier while we are asleep in a motel, the jiggling of my 4Runner that would occur due to climbing on the bumper, would also set off the alarm. In other words, I would like intrusion plus motion protection. However, I would like the option to be able to switch off the motion portion of the alarm for when we are in a campsite and still hooked to our travel trailer so that moving around in the trailer in the middle of the night will not set the tow vehicle alarm off.

Does the Toyota alarm have motion protection? If not, can anyone recommend a brand and model of aftermarket alarm? (do these generally use the OEM key fob, or a proprietary one for the alarm? I don't want to lose the ability to open the rear cargo window from the OEM remote). I don't want or need remote start, roll up the windows, or any other extra features, just motion and intrusion protection.

Not super of all the details of a factory system, however I do know a little about the Viper ones.

If you search for them on BestBuy's website you can read tons of customer reviews, install issues, and features of the various models. I found it extremely helpful when I was researching car alarm systems.
Also Python I have heard that people use.
DEI I believe is another, right?

There is one that sounds super awesome but doubt it has everything you want but it's called "Ravelco" if you want to do some reading on them. Very cool, I almost got one (I still haven't picked one up)

I would recommend looking on automotive forums for a Viper alarm and finding a certified installer that can install it for you. The 5901 system has a 2-way remote with LCD screen that can show if your alarm went off, whether the alarm is armed/disarmed, has remote start, aux button, car finder, and other features. I think to buy mine and pay for installation, I was OTD around $400-$500.

However, $400-500 is more than I am willing to spend, and as I mentioned, I don't need or want remote start, nor an LCD screen, etc. Those just are not features I am willing to pay extra for. And my Nexus Android phone has several GPS enabled car finder apps for free.
