Headlights Retrofit

I haven't been doing a lot to my truck because of busy schedule, but have been working on a project for couple months. With a great help from Steve (KS Autotek) the project is finally complete. It took few months to complete it and Steve is a scholar person with great amount of patience, because i'm anal and good people skills. I would recommend Steve in a heart beat what Retrofits, and the stuff he does best is what he specialize in. Ok, here are some pictures and the making of retrofit can be found here: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/163498-protector-retrofit-progress.html#post1637749

The Retrofits are:
All the parts are from TRS store and then Steve perform an awesome labor.
I order from TRS:

Gatling Gun Shroud-painted black and Blizzard Pearl factory paint
Amber halo 100mm behind the gatling gun shround
The low bean bowl painted black and high beam is painted Blizzard Pearl factory paint
High beam has Mini H1 projectors covered by mini gantling gun painted black
80mm Amber halo on the outside of the mini gatling gun shroud

HaHa. You can try that if you want. But at some point you will bang up your rope hook keeping it like it.

It is on my list to do. Trying to decide between ARB compressors CKMA12 vs CKMTA12.

Normally I would not care but in this case I may be the one to fix it

And who are you kidding, you are getting the CKMTA12. The issue will be where it will fit.

Truck looks great!

I can't use the location on the passenger side behind the air intake, because I want to place a second battery there, but I can try either fit it on the driver side behind the fuse box or I have seen someone place it in the trunk area.

Total Reformation

A week ago i was offered a great deal on the 2014 Limited Attitude Black with Redwood Leather, which i could not pass, so no wi have new to me 2014 4Runner. I will always miss my 2013, because it was an amazing truck, but i'm looking forward to new adventures with my 14.

Congrats! But why the switch? You've done so much work with the 13.

The reason for a switch was, I always wanted the limited but when I got mine 13, I couldn't afford it, because I was in school. I got my 13 for a very good price and then I saw someone posting here that they got very good deal on the new ones, so I called my dealer and ask him about it. They looked in to my truck and said I have value in it, more then I own a bank, those money no one would ever give me as cash, but I could use them for a new deal. So they took my 13 and gave me 14 limited with no money out of pocket and only 50 dollars more then what I was paying for SR5 a month, so I took everything off and got what I wanted in the first place to drive it to the grave. Plus the dealer didn't have a good month so they came down a lot on the new one.

Yeah man, it seems like it wasn't that long ago you picked up the '13. Sweet though. Are you planning on throwing some of your parts on the new one?

Sweet! Welcome to the black LE club along with phillyd2.

Same question, what did you remove of the old 4R?

Yeah the new attitude black with redwood leather looks awesome. And I loved my 13, but the changes they made in 14 is beside unbelievable. I took everything off my truck that was a deal I told the dealer that I'm not given them any of my parts. All the parts included Lift, tires and wheels, sliders full set of skids, winch, satoshi grill, cb antenna and headlights retrofit. I return the truck in OEM condition and they put it for sale for the same price I bough it 15 months ago. As far as placing parts back on my new one, I'm not too sure yet. I haven't been doing a lot of heavy off-roading and my wife is not very fun off it, so I don't know how much I will be doing it, I got into this thinking we can go places that no other truck would take us there, but the places that my wife would like to go, I can go on stock or lightly modified 4runner. The pressure is definitely high with this forum and many nice builds such as Ducmonsta, phillyd2 and many more, but we will see where it will take us. I know I will be selling some stuff that I don't need on the new one, the first thing is headlight retrofit.
Thanks guys!

Fourth mod I did was trying to make satoshi grill. I think I looked a thousand times and read DIY multiple times before attempting this mod. I bought spare grill, just incase I would mess up.

Cutting and fitting the spare grill.

On the truck

So for the Satoshi grill mod, is this a spare grill for a 4runner that you are using for the grill? How much did it cost and where did you get it?

Yes I used a spare grill which I bought for $100 and $50 for the mesh from custom grills. You can find the grill probably cheaper on eBay or here. Let me know if you have more questions.

Hey, Alex! Hope you're well! Love following your build :) Wanted to ask... what do you like and dislike more about your 5th gen (over your 4th gen). I hate that I'm starting to like the look of these more...
