Alignment issues after Bilstein 6112 lift. Help!

Well, mine is still off but I'm chalking it up to the alignment shop. Since now I'm getting the alignment cam gussets installed it'll have to be realignedafter that obviously. But with that said the aftermarket UCA's are needed if you're short on caster adjustment. Mine was well in spec for caster on the 3rd clip of the 6112s

Are you talking about cam tab replacements? Unless you plan to do some insane stuff (and even then it is questionable IMHO).

I would do spindle gussets before cam tab replacements.

If you take a look at post number 6 you'll see that the alignment shop damaged the tabs. It's a fairly well known weak spot on all Toyota SUVs and trucks.

Great thread, good info

The info here is very useful for those of us who plan to do a lift in the future. I've learned a bit about how to get mine done right. Please keep us informed of how you resolve the alignment issues.

Small update now that I have the TC cam gussets installed. Got them installed yesterday and picked it up late after I got off work. On the drive home I was annoyed to find that it still pulls to the right slightly. I know we have pretty sloped roads here in AZ but when the slope is to the left the truck drives straight rather than take off left. As you can see in the opening post, the previous alignment shop had created a decent cross caster to get it to drive straight. Obviously the new shop just matched up all the adjustments left and right and pushed it out the door.

Anyone have any other ideas what could be causing this?

Carrera,

I'm no expert but I was like that too but I took her off roading to see if it will correct the issue and it did (I think not recommended). Anyways, in my area down south it just depends on the road, it may just be Arizona in general. Mines seemed to pull to the right but now its just depending on what area, so I just decided to blame vehicle road crown. If I was nearby or if I'm ever in phoenix, you can drive mines and see if its the same. I even touch the center column to see if it is off slightly. A little OCD on that part.

Hi All I have 2015 TE with 36k on it

I'm also having issues with alignment after Bilstein 6112/5160 install, the fronts are on the 4th clip from the bottom, rears have 2" springs no spacers. I couldn't get caster in spec.

After few months and several alignments I gave up and just installed Camburg UCAs based on what I read on this forum. Well I was expecting significant improvement and I can't help but feel that I wasted a lot of money. Alignment shop took 2 hours and couldn't get caster to go more than 2.8. For the experts out there can someone help me how to get more caster the steps fro proper adjustment, should all bolts be loosen at the same time or one by one? which one to adjust first caster or camber rear or front bolt of the LCA? I know some of you will say take it to another shop but I'm running out of options here.

One thing I learned from the several alignments done so far, if there is a 0.5 deg difference in caster (give or take) between the right and left wheels the vehicles drives better or smother, if both are the same she feels jumpy or jittery

Seems you are no expert in the English language either.

The camburg UCAs should help quite a bit. They don't offer the most in terms of caster gains, but they do improve it and are durable and well made.

The adjustment process is outlined in the repair manual. It includes a chart, but it is difficult to explain.

You basically want the wheels as far forward as possible. Rear cam is typically set to push the rear portion of the LCA outboard as far as possible. Front is set to pull it inboard but you can only go so far and maintain near 0 camber.
