Sorry took the 4runner home from dealer today I do not have manual. Is this all time 4 wheel. I am not sure what setting everyday driving should be set on. Thanks for your help.

Yes it is full time, you have the torsen center diff, unless you bough a 2WD. You have a button that will lock the center diff which will act like us SR5/Trail people when we pull the lever.

Congratulations on joining the family.

Enjoy your new rig. Do yourself a favor and look up the 5th Gen LE manual in the search field. You'll find everything you need here. Payce!

I most have read something wrong, I thought these were 2wd then you could shift to all time 4wd and then 4 wheel low if extreme conditions.

The SR5 and Trail trim editions have part time 4wd, but are used primarily in 2wd for normal road driving. The LIMITED trim level will always be in some form of all-wheel/4-wheel drive. Normal driving mode(on your silver drive selector in your center console stack) is all-wheel drive. Your LIMITED edition will never be just 2-wheel drive.

Huh?
The limited is available in a 2wd model.
So is the SR5.
The Trail is the only model not available in a 2wd.

off the website...
Limited
4.0-Liter Dual VVT-i V6
5-Speed Automatic with Sequential Shift Mode
4x2 4.0L V6 5-Speed Automatic
$38,595 msrp

Congratulations on your new rig.

In US, Limited is either 4X2 or 4X4 (FULL TIME 4WD). In Canada, Limited is ONLY 4X4 (FULLTIME 4WD).

You manual should be in the glove box. (or possibly they took it out and gave it to you separately with your scheduled maintenance coupons). Look for a round dial at the bottom of the center stack.

See the big know just right of the shifter?.

H4F = High gear "free" (unlocked) --> I call it "F"reeway mode.
H4L = Locked but high gear
L4L = Low gear & locked (you have to be in neutral and press the button to switch to this mode or out of it).

Not sure what other options you may have if you have a 2WD. Mine is AWD and I'm loving it :)

Okki

Thanks guys I have all the paperwork now. What I was thinking is there was 2 wheel for normal highway driving. Found out limited is all time 4 wheel.
