Funny, I saw the ad this morning, before seeing your post. My first thought was "nice truck, obviously someone who cares about it". My second thought was "way too much money for the mileage".
I'm guessing it's that simple for others too. You can't drop the mileage, but you can drop the price. Drop it to $4-5K, and you'll get interest. I know, it's not happy news, but you can't be in love with a car/truck you're selling; it's just business.

The market for these trucks (4x4/locker) are more interested in overland related mods in my opinion. It's a nice truck but I hardly listen to the stereo on the trail, and if I do, the volume is WAY down. I just think speaker and tv are missing the market who go camping to get away from that stuff.
As far as price it's hard to say. There's a company in Oregon that sells 3rd gens with 250k on the clock but they are lifted with 33's usually, bumpers, roof racks, ets.. and they list them between 11 to 15 thousand dollars depending on how clean it is. And they're obviously selling them or else they wouldn't still be listing them that high.
If you're not in a hurry hold out. Only thing I didn't like about the ad was the inside could be cleaned a little better. Maybe shampoo/steam clean the carpet. I buy and sell a lot of cars/trucks/motorcycles on craigslist and can spot a scammer ad in two seconds. Your's is nothing like that so I wouldn't change a thing. I also liked the picture of your Lexus... GLWS

My 01 with 315,000 miles just sold for $6,200. It was in mint condition, and needed nothing.
I agree with another poster who said you are putting WAY too much information in your ad. Make bullet points. Brevity is king -- now more than ever.

I would also agree with this price point down in your parts of NYS.
Up this way ( Rochester ) might not even get that much, unless the
frame was spotless. I missed a 2001 SR5 118K miles on her looked to
be stock and real clean, but must have been sitting for a while without
use sold for $4500 in the Syracuse, NY area! I ended up with a 2002 Sport
w/170K needing some love for $3800 cash....I took it directly to the mechanic
and said make it bullet proof and expect about another $2500 before I start to
tinker with it in a minor ways?

Too much reading. You're underestimating how peabrained a lot of people are. They literally cannot handle a lot of words. And yeah remove the picture of the GX470. Might as well show your house and pics of your wife at the beach too. At least that will get the peabrain's attention.
Not adding anything that hasn't already been said. While I wouldn't worry in the slightest about owning a 3rd gen with that many miles (and my wife's '96 is closing in on that quickly), I'd be FAR more reluctant to buy one with that many miles on it already. Sure, they last a long time, but someone else had already gotten the benefit of most of that.
It's just going to be very hard (i.e. impossible) to find someone willing to spend that much on it when it's competing against similarly priced 4Runners with 100K fewer miles under their belts.
If you've got the time, jsut treat CL as a Dutch auction. Every once in a while go in and drop your price a little, let the market tell you what the price is. Or if its worth more to you than anyone else, just keep it.

That dealer's adds are hilarious. When I was shopping they were popping up all over the place. They didn't seem to be moving quickly, and I sure hope people are doing their research before buying them. They are throwing what I assume to be the cheapest lifts they can on them, judging by the cheap no-name tires they are installing. I was actually getting annoyed at them for poaching all of the clean trucks and throwing crap parts on them and jacking up the price. It's a business model, but IMHO they are making the trucks worse.

Also, you've only owned this truck for 3 years and 40K miles. That's a tiny portion of the truck's overall mileage and age, so the new buyer has less insight into how the truck spent most of its life.
If I were the buyer, that would concern me, because despite the long list of maintenance records, I still would not know how it was treated for most of its life.

Yeah there's a company in Ohio that does the same thing with e46 chassis M3's. They buy up these super clean cars from all over the nation and post them for 40 and 50 thousand dollars. Basically, as you said, trying to corner the market on them. It only annoys me because I wish I could afford to do that.

Sympathize with you. I had enough money to buy a car like yours after selling two of my old cars to Car Wreckers. Overall, it was a good deal, surprisingly. By the way, if you tried to do the same, I'm curious to see how much you got for yours.

It's crazy to me how different the prices are depending on the market. It shouldn't surprise me, but it does. I bought my black 1998 Limited with 137K for $5500 - 4 years ago in October. Now - at 170K and an OME/Bilstein Lift, TBU, new plugs, wires, timing belt, and valve cover gaskets later, I'd hand it over to the first person offering me more than $9k, let alone $11k.
That said, for anything $6k and up - I want a 4Runner to look like it's ready to steal my lunch money.
Doesn't have to be an extreme build, but at the very least slightly aggressive. Yours looks a little stock, or you should take pictures at different angles. Doesn't help that the 2000+ bumpers and running boards make it look a little bottom heavy vs. Absalom's green Runner. Personal opinion, but I don't love the black wheels on that color truck.
Lower miles wouldn't hurt either but at $6k I'd roll the dice and rebuild the engine or transmission if they failed, if I liked how the truck was set up otherwise and without any big red flags in my PPI.

Your biggest problem is price: KBB value.
If someone wants to buy it, they have to pay cash because they can't get a loan for it with the price you're asking. And let's face it, the people who are in the market for a 20 year old vehicle with 327K miles on it don't have $7000 burning holes in their pockets.

2500 with the miles. Take all the extras out and sell them separately still a great 4x4 clean truck but engine and trans unless your a die hard 3rd gen fan like we are is maxed out. People would be nervous it wont even make it another 1000 miles even though youd prolly drive it across the country lol.

You must be talking about Enthusiast Auto Group. They are notorious in E36 M3 circles too...
