I've read that you cannot use your stock OEM tpms system for any aluminum aftermarket wheels as they require a 20 degree tpms opposed to factory 40 degree. Wouldit be possible to alter the OEM system to fit?

Where did you hear that? I use OEM TPMS sensors on aftermarket wheels.

I was reading some forum thread, not here. A vendor from discount tires mentioned that OEM steel wheels used 40 degree tpms while it would require a 20 degree for aluminum wheels. Not sure if it applied to t4r's just wanted to double check.

OK, that is correct, but all 4runners come with aluminum wheels, so not an issue.
