Amazing difference between 4runner forum and Jeep JL forum.

If you don’t mind and not to derail this thread, but i’ve been considering getting into a preowned 16’/17’ Mercedes GLC 300. Any insights on those vehicles you can share?

We predominantly did Asian and American so my experience with European wasn't too thorough. That being said, I dreaded BMW's and Mercedes. They just didn't click for me. They needed special tools to fix, things are built in a poorly thought out manor for maintenance/repairs, and everything seems to be made of plastic in European cars and breaks when you remove it.

Get whatever you like, but there's a reason why I've only ever owned Toyota vehicles.

I had 2 JK's and loved them (2014's). The 4dr had no issues in 2 years and 36K miles. The 2dr that was a wheeler only had one issue in the 3 years and 24K miles which was the freedom top leaked. No one ever could get that stopped. Due to life, had to ditch them both and miss them every day. Never had the death wobble everyone keeps bring up but my lift was only 2" and I kept the stock BFG KM's. The stock axles are not really up to 35's imo especially if you really wheel it. Saw several broken axles but many jeeps are just mall crawlers.

The 4R is a great rig but it's not the wheeler a Jeep is and until someone else comes out with a rig as capable as a jeep out of the box, they will always sell a bunch. Too bad the FJ's are no longer made. Maybe the new Bronco will compete but that remains to be seen until 2020.

I've looked at the JL's and like the changes made. I'll have a jeep again. That said, I have friends with jeeps I still hang with. We are going on club run in June and I'll wheel the 4R and see what kind of trouble I can get into. I need to makes some mods to at least give me a chance against those heeps.

My wife had a Acura TSX made in Japan. Big POS. Fixed many things. Had to get rid of it at 173,000 miles when the tranny started going.

My dad owned an Element. I think it was at about 60k the starter went out. $800 fix. He got rid of it.

Based on my own experience and a few others, I think Honda is definitely better than American cars, but I don't think they are as good as Toyota's.

As an owner of a 1974 Bronco, I can’t wait to see the new model. From what I’ve read, it’s aimed to compete against the Heeps. If it come s out as an IFS, don’t bring it out!

I drove everything in the segment and got a Macan over the GLC. It's just a better driving car overall.

All I can say is the Bronco better not be like the new Chevy Blazer. Blazer is just a fancy Equinox.

I've had jeeps in years past and would love to get another but can only really afford one vehicle and that one vehicle needs to be as reliable as possible. I'd rather not have to worry about affording repairs all the time or getting stuck by the side of the road. My 4Runner is my 5th Toyota since 1974, all bought new and all never let me down or got me stuck by the roadside. Hence, the reason I kept coming back.
Interestingly my first Toyota was a jeep style LC. In '74 it cost me $4700 brand new. My last is a somewhat modded '12 4Runner that cost me $41,000. What a difference a few thousand days makes in pricing. The 4Runner is a keeper tho for many more years.

TwoMile, yes, it's kinda like every other qualified service is different from a poor one. When I was using essay writing service about Toyota Trucks, as my company asked about it, I was not "polling" myself and was not asking anybody ... do I need to do this, or not. Cause I knew for sure, that it will be worth it in advance.

Jeep JL vs. 4Runner? LOL!!!

Had a Jeep YJ a couple of years ago and perused the Wrangler forums. The amount of issues and horrible experiences with Jeeps was mind-boggling.

I was tempted to buy a new JL instead of my 2019 4Runner. My girlfriend desperately wanted me to get the Jeep. After spending some time on the forums, I decided that playing Russian Roulette with 4 bullets in a 6 bullet cylinder was just plain stupid. I mean, there is just a TON of evidence, data, and testimonials as to just how bad the new Jeeps are.

I would LOVE for the Jeeps to be quality and reliable vehicles, but they just aren't. It's not even debatable.

I like the one member up there where 36k and 24k is a proud test of longevity... Does a jeep odometer even have a 6th digit? Or does it roll over after 99,999?

I was behind an old landcruiser (j60) that had one these stickers on it. Thought it was funny. Somewhere up North Dakota.

My wife wants a Wrangler as her next vehicle and I told her she is nuts. She gets annoyed when I have to work on our vehicles as is. I told her I don't have enough time or patience for all of the issues a Jeep comes with! That being said I have had very minimal issues with my Dakotas over the last 20 years and with my Ram over the last 4 years. I'm not sure if they just make so many Jeeps problems arise purely based on statistics or if they are built sloppily.

Hey man, just how are you? What do you think about your life? Do you have leisure activities or points that you like to do on your extra time? As for me I have great deals of hobbies-- fishing, cooking and also alcohol consumption, what I such as to do most importantly. Nevertheless, there is another point that I love most of all, actually, it's my key, but it's ok, I will certainly inform you all. I such as gambling and everything concerning it. My day begin like this, I turn on my computer, open https://captainjackcasino.com check in and also play video games I like. It is very hassle-free since on the one hand, it is a pastime and also on the other hand, it is a method to earn money and also get my children and also my spouse something special. I would like you to join me, envision us playing online casino games together. Appears extremely enjoyable!

I have spent lots of time on this forum because of my '10 TE that I wish I had kept. But I wanted to buy my dream Jeep, so last September I did. Bought a $59K MSRP '20 JL Unlimited Rubicon. I have owned 8 Jeeps... a '91 Grand Wagoneer that was awesome, 2 TJs that were great, 3 XJ Cherokees also great, a '12 JK Unlimited Rubicon that I had to sell when my business took a downturn... but it was great, and lastly, the '20 JL Unlimited Rubicon. The previous 7 Jeeps were all very reliable, least miles was on the '12 JK at 70k. The others were driven all into the 150k+miles.

The JL was perfect for the 9000 miles I owned it... the driver interfaces/tech/climate control (short of the defroster) are light years ahead of the 4Runner, the LED headlights, fogs, tail lights, etc were incredibly bright. Alpine stereo and 8.4" UConnect sounded great. All of the phone things worked as they should. The leather was real on the seats, steering wheel, shift knobs, and it felt good. The heated steering wheel was nice. It had auto headlights and remote start that would work with the FOB from my apartment all the way to the parking garage. And the phone could start it too. It was fast off the line with the 4.11 gears and 8sp auto transmission. Mine steered straight, no excessive play in the steering, drove nicely all the way up to 95mph, never wobbled, never leaked, engine valve train held up, doors didn't come apart, welds looked pretty, body seams weren't cracking... all of those things I read about the forum never happened. Off-road, it was a beast. For a Jeep, and especially the JL, it seemed I had won the lottery.

However, the whole time I owned it I was thinking, I miss the my old 4Runner and that the Jeep really wasn't making me as happy as it did. I missed the precision of the 4Runner on the highway. I missed the one-touch windows, the roll down rear window, the extra room, the comfort and quiet, and most of all, not worrying that all of those things I read on the forum would happen to mine eventually. I also worried that the dealership, who doesn't even know the correct amount of oil to put in a JL 3.6 until I proved it to them on their own system, would not be able to fix things that would break. Or if they could, they would have to wait forever to get parts. Apparently, because so many people do have problems, spare parts are in short supply and often take weeks to acquire.

So rather than stressing about it and lamenting the fact I stupidly sold my Trail, I traded the Jeep for a '20 ORP. I would've bought a Pro but I wasted that extra money on buying and trading the Jeep. Regardless, I'm now all about getting it back to the same as my old Trail. Yes there are things I really miss on the Rubi... not the JL forum, but I like the familiarity and confidence I have with the 4R. And since I don't mod nor do I rock crawl, the 4R will do about 95% of what the Rubi will do and the 4R is much better in snow and slick stuff.
