It's funny and quite sad to see both sides of the isle constantly point fingers at the other side and blame everything on "them". Very few will point that keen observational eye at their "side" and see the wrongs.

Both R's and D's have done great damage to this country. Both sides of the media play the exact same games and spout propaganda.

We live in a world that resembles a bit of 1984, a bit of animal farm and a bit of a brave new world. It's maddening. Those books were not meant to be road maps...

Both sides are pitted against US; the lowly serfs. And both sides are doing a fabulous job of pitting US against one another. Don't fall for it.

Earlier in this thread I linked to data showing that the Fox news viewer is consistently, in poll after poll, shown to be the most misinformed of any news source. Even moreso than those that don't watch any news.

Does it happen on the left? Yes, to a degree, but to say it's equal is a false equivalency.

I don't put too much stock into polls, you really have to see what the questions are, how they are worded/asked, what the group sample size is and who conducted them to know if it is accurate or just trash.

For instance, most poles (From both sides) are conducted to get the outcome they want, it's not hard to set them up that way and target certain demographics/areas to get the results you're looking for.

Who set the criteria for what "informed" is versus misinformed? Is it simply a news agency that says X is what we broadcast, so that is the criteria for what "informed" is- by knowing what THAT SPECIFIC NEWS AGENCY reported?

Or is it fact checked versus what's actually going on to the best degree it can be, because even when one pays attention to all Mainstream news outlets, underground news outlets and cross checks them against people who were involved it can be hard to know the real facts of any situation. There's a lot of misinformation out there, it's quite unpleasant.

Most of what's reported on any format, by either side- is opinion drenched misinformation masquerading as fact.

They were published by the media, not conducted by them.

At first glance it appears that the list of questions skews to the left in it's wording and presentation. It appears there is a bias in the line of questioning. Not to discredit the informed versus misinformed angle- I'll try to explain a bit better...

If I conducted this same poll and most of my question were about conservative held views and worded to skew that way, we would likely get a different outcome.

For instance- if I asked the question- what is an assault rifle? or- Do more people defend their lives with guns or more people killed with guns?

You would likely get the "informed" skewing the other way and the more misinformed would be from CNN & MSNBC viewers.

Like I said, you can set up polls to reach your desired goals based on what is asked and how it is worded.

I could provide tons of examples on this, but I think you understand my point- right?

I would encourage you to actually read the studies first. This statement is kind of a dead giveaway that you are going into it with a confirmation bias.

I plan on it, like I said I don't have time at the moment, but will read them and come back and post about what I find.

I made a comment based on what I gleaned from looking at it for about 2 minutes and said I would research it and come back and discuss what I find- don't put me in a box just yet...

I've taken part in polls that were meant to skew one way or another and it is obvious what the poll is trying to generate.

AGAIN, I will do some reading and find the actual polls themselves and come to my own conclusion and report here.

Have you actually looked at the polls in there entirety, not just read the articles discussing them? Have you looked into the specific questions, wording, group sizes and demographic of the poll?

One might do so first, especially when discussing "informed VS uninformed" and before speaking of others' supposed "confirmation bias"...
