America this week, what the hell?

I genuinely cannot believe that this petty nonsense has carried on for over three pages now.

The manufactured concern for Jeremy's well being is incredibly transparent. Its clear you guys dont like him so pretending like you're concerned over his well being and not just distracting from his points or trying to discredit him as a person is blatantly transparent.

As for all americans living off grid, another ridiculous and pointless hypothetical. There are so many qualifiers needed to even begin to predict how that would play out it, is completely pointless. Does this happen overnight? Do people still work jobs? Is it just America or other countries as well? Is there any remaining form of government or economy? Will there be a barter system for exchanging goods? Law enforcement or rampant crime? Thats not even addressing the fact that I'm not entirely sure there is enough farmable land for 300 million people without modern technology, irrigation, etc. The whole scenario is pointless to try to hypothesize about and even more pointless for anyone to think they have an answer.

I still notice that none of you address the many points raised before this distraction started, in some of which you were clearly proved wrong.

Ironically this is all very similar to Trumps campaign. Baseless, fact free name calling used as a distraction from the lack of substance.

I agree. Hence it's illogical for even an individual to grow their own food even if they have the land.

Try to grow some peaches in the middle of Nevada... It's a big enough state for a large group of people I think.

edit: replying to victor...

i did address one point, and asked some questions about his view. i did not get an answer, but got diversion instead.

perhaps he brought it upon himself. No need to discredit him he does a pretty good job at that himself.

In your opinion.

You guys dwelling on it for three pages after you had clearly been challenged on points related to the issue at hand hurts your credibility pretty badly in my opinion, and quite possibly the opinions of others reading this as well. It certainly comes across as childish. Especially when he provided outside sources to support his opinions.

He came across as an a$$ and was treated as such.Everything posted by me as my opinion only ,never claimed otherwise.
Who is "you guys" I hasn`t been asked any questions, what is issue at hand?
Let`s try to steer it back on track.

If you're referring to your question about rioters and the average intelligence of the two parties the answer should be obvious. What percentage of the democratic party do the rioters make up? Combine that with a basic understanding of how averages work and you should have your answer.

I think the thing that you are missing, probably because you are on the other side of the debate, is that there has been no shortage of insults hurled at the liberals in this thread since the beginning (the term libtard has been common in this forum for a long time). Most of us have continued to ignore them and keep the debate on topic. When one guy gets in here and hurls a few back at the other side they turn it into the melodrama we have seen over the last several pages. It just comes across as incredibly hypocritical in a "you can dish it out but can't take it" sort of way. Sort of like a certain presidential nominee, and I'm not sure if that correlation is just a coincidence.

not particularly. i like growing my own food, and it is cheaper for me to produce some of it than to buy it. i grow butternut squash, from seed given to me by my f-i-l. this year, i should have 30 to 50 squash.

my f-i-l bought the seed back in 1967, and has harvested seed from non-crossed squash since that time. so, for his initial seed purchase, probably less than a dollar, he's grown squash for 50 years, and i've grown it for 18 years.

i have a small enough garden to do manual pest removal - i squish the bugs, beetles, worms, etc.

nevermind the apple tree out front. in one really good year, we canned 50 quarts of applesauce, all derived from the one tree.

feel free to tell me the percentage (you can't).

Jeremy lives among the hoity-toity's of northeast transplants. They think you are crazy for being prepared, and their lack of logic in arguments is difficult to comprehend.

They say things like "Why do you need weapons of war to defend your house?" ignoring almost weekly accounts of home invasions by >3 armed men...armed men that had previously been incarcerated but were released early by people like Jeremy to begin with.

Yet, if you mention that the Constitution explicitly allowed ownership of firearm by "the people" (a right affirmed by SCOTUS in the Heller and MacDonald decisions) in order to defeat foreign armies they say "What are you going to do with your rifles against a foreign army or a tyrannical American government? Nothing! They will be useless." Wait. Weapons of war, or not?

They are perfectly content with sending guys with guns to do their dirty work and steal your money and take your possessions which is exactly why they don't want you having any.

Jeremy mentions things like Trump voters being less educated per polls as a he thinks it is a way to show only stupid people vote for Trump, but what he doesn't realize (or conveniently ignores) is that the only reason that uneducated minorities vote Democrat is for the handouts and uneducated (read: working class) white voters are so in love with Trump is because they want jobs that pay well. In the current environment they are forced to compete with Syrian refugees and Mexicans because the Democrats are like "sure, come on in bro."

Black unemployment has hovered around 25% and gotten no better under BHO - yet they are polling 99% in favor of BHO Term #3 Courtesy of HRC - Why? Do you think if white unemployment was 25% they would vote for a continuation of the policies that kept them there for 8 years? Think about that for a second...

People living in Palm Beach aren't going to work in bottom level service sector jobs seeing their pay cut and benefits eroded because second generation Mexicans are willing to work for damn near anything. They point toward uneducated white Trump voters as uneducated racists while they live in their gated communities and go to their nice jobs and think they are doing such a beautiful thing by letting less fortunate people into their country - as long as the only time they see them is behind a lawnmower.

That's a great little fairytale, but I grew up dirt poor, own my own business, am a Veteran, and I'm armed to the ****ing teeth. I'll provide proof of any of the previous statements if you're in the mood for crow for dinner. You'd do well to do a little more reading before you start making such idiotic generalizations. Oh, and Trump lived in Palm Beach for years, sold out to a Russian, and you're giving him a pass?! **** off.

You're right. But neither can you. Given that it is nowhere near the percentage of total americans supporting the democratic party I think we can safely assume that it is not a significant percentage.

This is all pretty common sense stuff if you're not being willfully obtuse about it.

i don't believe i've ever used the term "libtard" (except right there<<<), nor made any claim that liberals or conservatives are dumber or smarter than each other. you certainly have, however. repeatedly. it is pure hypocrisy to chastise others for something you yourself are engaging in.

right, but i didn't ask it, you did. other than asking about opinion, i rarely pose a question that i would myself be unable to answer, epecially in debate or discussion.

it may not be a significant percentage (yet), but it has surely had a significant impact on those affected by the riots.

Except that I provided multiple outside sources to support that statement. (Also I dont know that I ever used the term 'dumber'. Less educated or misinformed maybe).

As for the libtard statement, I'm glad. I dont think you deserve a pat on the back for being a grown up, but you certainly cant deny that that term as well as other insults have been thrown around on this forum before.

Ok, but that wasn't the point. Your post was in response to Jeremy's assertion that conservatives are less educated than liberals. You pointed to the rioters as, i guess, an example of uneducated liberals (although I think you are assuming a lot about their education level and political affiliation). My point was that that group only makes up a small percentage of people and that you can hardly use a group that small to make generalizations about a group as big as democrats in general. Simple math really.

i'm emulating your, not yore or you're, methodology. several posters, perhaps even you, have claimed that black voters will support the dem ticket rather than trump. a few have been stating as fact(r) that liberals are smarter than conservatives. ergo, i made the necessary jump that the rioters were generally liberals. thus my question about the intelligence demonstrated by said rioters. clear?

yea, i understood it the first time.

The misunderstanding here seems to be on your part. Black voters, or more specifically rioters, (since I dont think we can assume all black voters are taking part in riots), are not indicative of all democratic voters.

Do you understand how averages work?
No one is claiming ALL liberal voters are well educated and intelligent, nor is anyone claiming that ALL conservatives voters are uneducated or unintelligent. Merely that on average one group is more educated than the other.

The only way to assess the average intelligence would be through some sort of massive polling and research group, like say Pew, one of the biggest and most respected research groups in the world. Also the group that did the research Jeremy linked to in his post.

No, I've proven that Democrats are more educated. But if we follow your logic, because the Klan and White Supremacist groups support Republicans in overwhelming numbers, that proves the party is racist. Right? :llama:

I`d say better educated people lean more to democratic side of political BS.:llama:

Yeah and I'd say less educated people are more easily duped by wealthy people claiming to care about them, and more prone to acts of violence to further their religious beliefs or delusions of supremacy.

Who attempts to put restrictions on women's rights based on religion? Who attempts to ban or restrict alcohol? There's two right answers to those questions. Republicans......and Muslims.
