It doesn't matter what YOU connect it with. It's what it WAS connected with, and that's slavery, and a war fought in large part to be able to continue to keep slaves.
Your ancestors weren't enslaved under that flag, and if you don't connect it with racism then I connect you with willful ignorance, which is just as bad.

Overall, I like the way you spelled this out. I'm not sure Trump ISN'T in it for money. And a few of the other anticipated results will require help from the House and Senate which I'm not sure he'll get from either side... but like you, with so many of "the good 'ol boys club" against him makes me want to vote FOR him, if nothing else just to try (probably in vain) to make a point. I mean, the low approval ratings for years haven't made any difference. Maybe, if the phony's (funny to word it like that while speaking in support of Trump) start losing elections they'll wake up! It's our only chance - IMO. If hillary wins, it will be taken as "America likes the status quo" and nothing will change.

I was at the Touratech ADV East Rally over the weekend in PA. There were a lot of Trump yard signs, coincidently many of the signs were in yards where people were flying the confederate flag. Weird.

I personally like how you play the "Us vs Them" game. We're all in this together. Like it or not, we're all ****ed regardless of the outcome this election. One will support the status quo, one may possibly destroy it so something better (may or may not) come along. I'm willing to take the risk to let Donald rip it all apart. We know it'll just be more of the same with hillary.
And no, I don't think Trump is ultimately our savior -I'm quite certain he's in it for himself and not you or I (same for hillary). But if he wins, whoever comes in to clean up the mess might be.
And, I think the separation of powers will keep Donald from wrecking us too badly - both sides will be looking for any excuse to impeach him and terminate his run as President as soon as possible. So... it becomes do you like Pence or Clinton better?

And this is the problem...the system isn't broken. It's working EXACTLY as it was designed to work. All this nonsense about the country going down the tubes is a bunch of crap.
I laid it out in an earlier post, but what you're seeing right now is simply the electorate shifting, and the Republican party is incapable of dealing with it.
The country isn't any less great than it was 10 years ago. MOST people are much better off now than they were when Obama was elected, but we have a bunch of whining Republican politicians and pundits screaming at the top of their lungs that the world is coming to an end.
And why? Because of gay marriage? Because we're not involved in a major war we don't need to be in? Because Hillary had a private email server?
No, it's none of that. It's LARGELY due to the fact that we've had a black man as the President for the last 7 years, and everything else is just an excuse to bash him without openly admitting being a racist.
The Republican party has been taken over by bigots, racists, and the ignorant, and this election cycle will see it make a major shift, or be gone.
