I understand that the forum has rules, I guess the part I have a problem understanding is why some of them are necessary. In a country that so highly values free speech why do we need to censor the internet of all places. If someone feels offended by something, especially something that wasn't directed at them personally, they always have the right to click elsewhere and not read it.

a threat of self defense? that's not exactly how I read that, but maybe a judge would agree with you.. :suspicious:

Information security should be taken seriously.

People being able to see your license plate on the road or parked at your house versus an open forum is not apples to apples.

When you are driving down the road or parked in front of your house, your personal beliefs and opinions are not posted for all to see and link to your identity through a license plate or say an address.

Also, be careful about posting your intention of "Shooting first" on the internet, this is the type off stuff a bad DA will try to use against you in a court of law should you ever be involved in a shooting incident.

People post their personal beliefs on their vehicles all the time. Ever see a political bumper sticker?!

And I never posted any intention of "shooting first" I was making the point that FL is a state that is pretty loose with self defense laws. The common term used by opponents of the Stand Your Ground law is that is the "shoot first law".


And I'm not changing my life one bit due to vague threats by ISIS. They could find thousands and thousands of service members just by using Facebook. I think the chances of one of them lurking on the 4Runner forum in wait for someone to post their address is probably pretty low.

It's a non-issue.


And for someone touting keeping a low profile, you have a pretty interesting username.

Like I said, to each his own.

My username doesn't reveal my location, who I am nor anything else other than my fondness of the character Roland Deschain/the "Gunslinger" in the Stephen King series "The Dark Tower", my playful jab at those with triskaidekaphobia and my enjoyment of firearms.

Property has nothing to do with self defence, no judge will let you kill a thief or vandal without consequences, You better prepare a gun you can plant on someone you kill to justify self defence. plenty of people end up in prison that way.

You want me to put your mind at ease or admit in writing that I`ve had ill intentions toward you? Why would I do either? I don`t own you anything. You have to deal with your fears from now on. I`m not in sole possession of your publicly available address.
