After choking his wife and being charged with domestic violence, Trump's campaign CEO Stephen Bannon was sued by a group of Biosphere employees for his terrible ways.

UNDER OATH, Bannon admitted to threatening another woman. Here's the excerpt.

"During a 1996 trial, Bannon testified that he had called one of the plaintiffs a "self-centered, deluded young woman" and a "bimbo." He also testified that when the woman submitted a five-page complaint outlining safety problems at the site, he promised to shove the complaint "down her ****ing throat." At the end of the trial, the jury found for the plaintiffs and ordered Space Biosphere Ventures to pay them $600,000—but also ordered the plaintiffs to pay the company $40,089 for the damage they had caused."

Mike Rowe, from Dirty Jobs and a fervent supporter of trade education wrote a pretty good response to the media constantly pointing out Trumps popularity with "uneducated white men"

Politics aside, I've always like Mike Rowes passion for getting people jobs. If you live south of Tennessee you will never be out of work if you can repair HVAC systems, yet I know literally zero people who did that after HS.

Political science, women's studies, Art history degrees on the other hand...

I know that my mind is made up, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to look at and consider anything else. I like Mike Rowe. I enjoy a lot of his thoughts when he speaks them. But his entire point was on the idea that uneducated = lack of 4-year degree. I just wanted to know where he got that idea. If it was a specific article, speech or what not. I know that I personally don't equate the two.

I'm a fan of Mike Rowe as well. That's the first thing I thought when I read that as well. But since a forum post won't be able to change our opinions then I guess there's no point in discussing it.

that wasn't HIS point, that point was brought up TO him. supposedly its the medias point.

Seems like we read the same thing, but it also seems like you read into what I said incorrectly. I never said that was his point. I said that his point was ON the idea that uneducated = lack of 4-year degree. That he is basing his response on that idea or his response to an original question that centers around that idea. I just wanted to know where that info was based on. I still do not think that is an unfair question.

Thanks for the links. I appreciate it. Maybe it's getting into too much of a picky semantics thing, but I think there is a big difference in comparing a high school diploma or less/some college to saying the line is a 4-year college degree.

"In an analysis of voters by education in states where exit or entrance polling is available, nearly half of those with high school diplomas or less schooling said they supported the billionaire. Just over 40 percent of those with some college study favored him."


And for the record, I do feel the same about our trades getting sh*t on more and more. 4-year degrees are becoming the new HS diploma and many of those with them are no better off for the real world than before they had one whereas those with a good trade degree many times are. But in the overall perception will be looked at as lower on the pole when compared to someone with that bachelors degree.

When people make blanket statements about a political parties followers, it shows the lack of knowledge on the subject. There is so much low-information BS in this thread from both sides and I typically could care less, but here are the facts. BOTH parties have large troves of low-information / low-education voters. The GOP goes after rural whites, blue collar and religious/evangelical types. The demos go for the urban poor, minorities, poor immigrants & city type.

Realize that low-education does not equal low-intelligence, just a lack of education on a certain topic (Politics)

Interesting article. I took a few points out of it. On 2/3's of all the federal grant ore for government health care, Medicare. It appeared those numbers were 2014 as towards the end it said the number is set to increase when the first year of fully kicked in ACA laws went in to effect. Also I found it interesting that they count SS as what they are giving us. Even though that's money we paid them that they are finally giving back to us. With way decent article.

I wonder if there is anything to do with most of the "new contracts" for oil drilling in the gulf being denied after the new horizon incident and then the lack of employment vs. N Dakota being the least dependent and having shake and fracking.

I would say PBS is doing a little fluffing using a headline like that when the difference between “nearly half” and “just over 40%” could hardly be called “overwhelming.”

Here's an easy way to know what demographics vote the most in the US:
Any grouping of people who need something. That's who the large majority of voters are. The people who need assistance from the government, on both sides are a large block of voters. The people who need change, on both sides, are a large block of voters. The people who think they personally have something to gain by having a certain politician vote in large numbers. People who are comfortable in life and don't need or qualify for assistance and know that their world won't change much no matter what are a huge group of people who won't vote.
So:
Minorities
Poor
Uneducated (make up your own definition of that)
Sick
Poor housing situation
Unemployed
Disenfranchised
Just plain unhappy with the way things are

I'm sure people can add more but people who need something, anything, are the bulk of the voters. Most of us are exceptions to the rule.
