Up until you carry something inside of your gut for 9 month you have no saying.... simple as that.:faint:

I disagree. You should have a say in it. If she doesn't want you to have any say in it does she absolve you from any responsibility after birth?

she can`t absolve you of anything it`s child you support not her. Proof to court that you better suited to raise that child not her. That if you wanted that child so bad.If you don`t want that child use condom or masturbate instead. If you wanted that child and she aborted you picked wrong woman. but that`s different issue.

It's funny how that works. When I say we need to not publicly fund abortions and birth control I get shouted down saying that it's either fund them or have unwanted bastards.
I saw it up to the 2 people having sex to understand that if they can't afford a condom perhaps they shouldn't have sex.

But when I suggest that a man should have some say in the outcome of the child he helped create I get told to use a condom or masturbate. Is that only a publicly funded condom.

What if he wants the child and she doesn't?

Edit I failed to make my point as I am dealing with my son

If personally responsibility is good for one side of the argument shouldn't it be good for the other ?

you can say all you want
she has final say anyway, can you do it without her? until you do you have no saying.. blame your parents, mother nature God, whatever.. You was born a man not woman.
What if man want her to abort and she want to keep?

Society evolve, many tasks eliminated or done differently.
Today's American farmer feeds about 155 people worldwide. In 1960, that number was 25.8

At some point 90% of people don`t have to work ( in a sense we use it today) . What do you suggest gonna happen to those 90%?
One way is to let them die.
Does it fit your desire for human evolution?
if that's what it comes down to, then yes.

however, aside from children, the infirm and elderly, there shouldn't be any number of people that "don't have to work" they should all being pulling their own weight. at a minimum.

I'd actually agree. A big telling point for me is the color palate a site chooses. If I open a page and all of its colors are either red or blue, it's pretty telling which market they are pandering to.
and that would be who exactly?
red or blue? what is that supposed to signify?

that seems a fairly judgmental position to take.

yeah, no. perhaps more say than the father, but not all.

absolutely. it took 2 to make that baby.

I do think since the woman will be physically carrying the baby, and its her body that is being changed, should have a bit more say. but not total/full. if that were the case, then the father should absolutely be "let off the hook" if he so chooses. its not fair, nor right that the woman can make decisions that will affect the mans life, but not the other way around.

What if man want her to abort and she want to keep?

at that point, the father should have the option to have all legal responsibility removed, if he so chooses..

And that's a good point. What if he knew there was no way he could pay 10-20,000 a year in child support but she lives at home and has a new "Long Term" boyfriend. He pays for most everything she and baby need. Full custody and baby calls him daddy. She still gets to collect baby's daddy money. And because he had a bad attorney he has shitty visitation. I know someone this happened to. The judge said unless you can prove he is paying for everything you still need to pay. I'm not saying the man should have the final say at all. I am just saying it is extremely slanted in favor of women.

If she makes a bad decision to have unprotected sex then how does she have all the say and he has none. The both made a bad decision correct. Or is it that way because the court feels men just make better decision than women so we knew what we were getting in to. Or is it just because the court knows it's a woman's decision if she wants to change her mind? If we want equality (a good thing) shouldn't we be equal or try to be as much as possible?

Ohhh really? Do you say that military pulling their own weight? Or anyone on government payroll? financed by the rest of us.
Not everything is self sufficient or we would be still in stone age.

I`d agree but support is for child, not woman. If he wants he has same right for custody. and in that case she will pay child support.

Not sure I'm following your questions very well, but I'll do my best to give an example. We were discussing websites that are claiming to be news sources. I was saying that there is a middle ground of sites that will lean towards one side or another, but won't go over a certain line and will still give opinions that lean towards the other side from time to time. Then there are sites that are so far to one side or another, that I personally do not take them seriously. My point was that when I open certain "news" sites and see that they are overwhelmingly either blue in color or red in color, that it's not hard to guess at what the content is going to be.

Let's look at American News X

Open the site and it's almost all blue. Blue in the header. Fonts are all blue. Is it then surprising that they are going to have headlines such as:

Dear Republicans, You Deserve This

Trump Surrogate Corrected And Schooled Three Times In One Segment

1930’s Germany Never Saw It Coming, We Have Trump

It's not hard to see from my posts which side I tend to lean, but I will dismiss both types of those sites equally as fast as they really do nothing to help inform.

Not sure where your from Victor but in Oregon Washington and California the court will always give custody to the women except in extreme cases. There are several cases in each state where the biological mother is in and out of rehab on a regular basis. Every time she gets out the court gives her custody even though she has no job and can demonstrate zero responsibility. I know it's different from state to state so let's here your take.

I`m not saying law is fair, most laws aren`t.
most of the time it comes to whoever has best lawyer.
Forgive me my friend I`m not ready to share my life story with you.

Wasn't asking for it. Just asking if you knew somebody with a similar story that may be different from the ones pointed out by me.

Just a bit off the track but this brings back a lot of memories from the period I worked for a non-profit attempting to help fathers get custody when mothers were unfit. The laws are very biased against fathers even when they were obviously the better parent. The "best interest of the child" is ignored more often than not in most states. That's even blatantly shown when a father gets "visitation" rights. Nobody that visits their kid(s) can be the father the kids deserve.

The shame is that we hear a lot about the problem of "father absence" being the cause of a lot of social problems at the same time they're being denied involvement by the courts. Somebody mentioned that child support is for the child, that's a fantasy as any divorced father can verify.

FOR perhaps, buts that not how it normally works...

yep, the courts are very biased towards the mothers. even when its quite obvious who the better parent is, and who the child would be better served to be with. THAT is what matters.

Yes I have. Money talk. whoever has more money wins if so desired.
after a certain point, you are correct. money talks.

but, usually it goes like the above. especially in Washington state, though I expect many other states are the same.
its VERY difficult for the father to get custody over the mother, unless she flat out gives up her rights. and that happens rarely.

Interesting how many of you has been taken advantage off.

I raised two kids with 2 different women, no one ever tried to take advantage of me. Accept for my 2 little bundles of joy:rockon:

It's state to state. That is why I asked where you are from.
