Andy MOD 2.0 w/real TRAC Off Switch

Just want to thank MStudt for this writeup. Just did mine yesterday and it works like a charm!

If anybody is having a hard time finding one of these switches go to a salvage yard and look for 2000+ Camry. Out of 6 Camry at my local salvage yard two had the switch, so I got both along with the sockets.

Nice write up. Very useful for me now. After I saw the Avalon switch earlier on a thread I was going to go this route as well. Like both switches next to each other too.

So I've got a problem. I did this with a regular switch and everything works fine in park. But as soon as I put it in drive the lights come on no matter if the switch is in the off position. I've rewired it 3 times and it still does this. What's confusing is that as soon as I flip the switch in park the lights come on as they should. But then if I cut the car off and restart it and then put it in drive with the switch off the light comes on. Halp

I don't remember the brand but it's just a regular clear red switch with a black housing.

Did you use a relay? If you using a regular toggle with an on/off setting you won't need a relay on them. If you need a relay for what you have you could have the wrong relay.

They actually got rid of lockers and added trac in 01

Just did this mod today. I had an overly sensitive traction control that would go off all the time even when the tires had plenty of traction. While going through the tutorial, I was retarded and put just 1 fuse in the add-a-fuse holder and nothing worked. I then put 2 fuses in it and it works great. I used 10 amp fuses, since that's what the package stated was the maximum. Very simple mod that looks factory. Can't wait to try it in the snow now.

I installed the trac off button on my 01 and I thought I did exactly what it said but I to have made a mistake somewhere because the ABS light is on VSC TRAC is on and another one. Not only do the lights just come of but the trac off button doesn't even work? Anybody know what I did wrong ???
