Another Bilstein 5100 question

Just got bilstein a installed on all four corners. The abs light and traction control lights are now on. Anyone know what this is about?

Same thing happened to our 2013 during install. The mechanic had stretched one or both of the ABS sensor wires (I think) and broke one inside. Both harnesses had to be replaced. From what they told us the wires a very thin gauge and break easily.

Cornfed lean correction?…

I think most people pick the cornfed because, if I'm not mistaking, they are the only ones on the market that correct the left to right lean.. that's why I'm buying them. There are other quality set ups out there too but tried and true also help people sleep.

Hello all! This has been a very informative thread that has given me some ideas for my recently acquired 2016 Trail with KDSS. Thanks for all the posts.

The post that I have quoted brings up an interesting concern of mine so perhaps you all might have some input on it. I'm looking to do a mild lift/level on my vehicle until I finally determine how well the KDSS system likes it. I have already acquired a full set of 5100s but I am still undecided as to what I want to do on the rear. I'm leaning towards 1.75 in the front and 1 inch cornfed spacers in the rear. As was indicated in the post that I quoted I have seen many comments that state the cornfed spacers are different thickness side to side to correct a "driver side" lean. By driver side lean I interpret that as the left rear sits lower than the right rear.

Here is my concern… My truck a 2016 trail with KDSS in stock format right now sits 1/2 inch lower on the passenger side than the driver side in the rear....
If the statements regarding the cornfed spacers being thicker on the left rear are true then this will simply make my "passenger-side" lean worse… I have not read anywhere on the corn fed website that there is a difference in thickness from side to side on the spacers. Any ideas/ comments?

Ultimately I would really prefer doing coils in the rear for the improved articulation but I want to keep my stock front coil's and don't really want to lift any higher than 1.75 to minimize caster issues. Are there any coils that would be suitable for the rear that would maintain a level/slight factory rake look at the 1.75 front setting? Also has anyone noticed any ride issues by leaving the front coils stock and installing upgraded rear coils?

Thanks for your input!

My current trail with kdss is on the 5100 1.75 in front with the one inch rear spacer.. Just curious if adding an aftermarket track bar give me any benefits.. Or just a total waste..

Do you have any pictures of your truck that you could post please? I have the same exact vehicle and I'm looking to do the same set up for the lift possibly. Thanks!

Check out Dobinsons springs, there is a vendor on here that sell them Dobinsons Mike. They make side specific rear coils to accommodate for the lean.

Thanks for that info. I just PMd him. The Dobinsons look like a solid product!

Yeah they have been around forever in Australia. I'm going with a complete kit front and rear coils and Dobinsons shocks. Before you ask for pics the coils I want are on back order till the end of May. It'll be a while before I receive and install it.

First post I've made, but thanks to all of you and this wonderful forum, I am excited to show my new addition. These are Fn f(x) pro wheels in dark gloss gunmetal, Bilstein up front set at 1.75 and 1 inch cornfed in the rear. Next up is a gobi rack which should arrive in the next 30 days. Thanks for all the inspiration...

I have a pair of 1" cornfed rear spacers that I bought 2 weeks ago. Never installed, brand new. I have decided to go with a complete lift kit instead of spacers. Cornfed won't let me return them. I will sell these spacers to you for $80 including shipping. PM me if interested.

Anyone with a 1.75 and 1" back spacer on 275/70/17 on trd rims? Any rubbing issues. Had my lift done about 2 months ago. Upgraded to 275's about a month ago.. Didnt have any issue at first. In the last week I am noticing a slight rub with steering wheel fully turned to one side while going in reverse. It is slightly coming into contact with front inner corner of the fender liner..... could it be that the 5100 finally settled a bit......?

Here are a couple of shots with a lot of rear weight loaded in my truck and the OME
895e/883 + 5100 combo (fronts have a 10mm top strut spacer too).

I have been getting a lot of questions on this setup and it's incredible and perfect for a DD and very capable off road. Not too stiff & probably not gnarly enough to handle heavy steel bumpers but everything else = perfect
