I'm new to the forum and to 4runners. I've had my '94, V6, manual trans for about a month now and have enjoyed it. One of the first things I did to it was remove the factory stereo and Install an aftermarket unit. I did this using an harness adaptor. After the install I noticed that the cluster lights were not working and the dimmer function on the stereo didn't function. I searched the forum and found that I had blown the fuse. I replaced the fuse and got my rear running lights back and the 'light on' signal back.
However, I still do not have cluster lights. I've seen in the forum as well that there is a + dimmer and a - dimmer. The harness adaptor I used had an 'orange/white' wire for dimmer and an 'orange/black' marked also for dimmer. Do I need to just disconnect one of the dimmer wires? Have I blown the light bulbs in my cluster?
The forum has been pretty helpful, but I have not found any info on this specific issue. Thanks for any input.
