Another run away Toyota (Prius)

Funny how stuff gets added to the story as time goes on isnt it...

I hope the guy enjoys his 15 min of fame... when they find out hes full of it and the car checks out fine, I hope he gets a speeding ticket and Toyota presses charges for Defamation of character.

and then i would go after yahoo for Libel.
 
I'm not sure about this one. I saw it on the news at school and they showed a close up of the front brake rotors and they looked perfectly normal no signs of scaring. and they said that he had his foot on the brake pedal and then the emergency brake. I would think that would unbalance the car and it would kinda drift at that speed. All I gotta say is here we go again.:sniper::withstupid:

I've pulled the e brake in my fair share of rental cars and your right it is one hell of a scary ride to a stop and that was only from 20 or 30. I can't imagine pulling the ebrake at 90.... It was probably a controlled slow down(ie foot off the gas pedal/cash check/get new car after realizing i bought a prius lol)
 
correct me if im wrong.....all the of Prius' that i have driven didn't have a parking brake lever per se....i believe it was either a foot pedal or a electronic button. if it was the electronic button i have a hard time believing that it was able to engage.
 
I saw the guy in the Prius say he did not put it in neutral fearing all four wheels would lock up.

He's lost any credibility he might have had.
 
Oh yeah, they are coming out of the woodworks now! I can't believe he had time to reach for the gas pedal, call 911, and have a conversation with a moving cop but not shift it to neutral.... COME ON! Since this recalls came out, all of the so-called expert has been advising people to shift it to neutral. I wonder what's his financial situation. Just wondering.

It has a pedal for the emergency. My boss was talking about it today (he drives a Prius). He also said that it doesn't have a "Neutral" gear per-se, but, if you hold down the button for "Brake" for 3 seconds, the car starts to slow ( "Drive" is disengaged) until stop and you cannot reengage "Drive" until the car is completely stopped.

Isn't it a bit odd that an '08 would suddenly have this problem NOW?
And nothing reported during the miles prior to Toyota having problems?
And since when does a Prius do 90?
Yeah... I smell a retirement plan.

Or maybe they should charge him with fraud and filing a false police report and put his stupid, greedy ass in jail. Then Toyota should sue the crap out of him, not that they'll ever get any money, but just to make his life miserable and make an example of him.

YEP... called it again, Just wanted to point out that I was among the first (among many smart T4R owners) to call BULL!!

so in the infamous words of so many!

"I TOLD YOU SO"!! :dancin:

now lets see if Toyota does the smart thing and presses charges...
