So i had to make a new winch rope crimp end piece. Because the original smittybilt one went to poop after 2 re spools.
My concern is that, i dont like how the line is not flush to the side of the winch. Because the crimp is thick. Not that it was any thinner before.
Wondering if you guys have the same issue and simply not worry... or should i just ditch the crimp end and tape the rope to the drum, then spool the rope over it simply with tension.

wondering if i should do this

any ideas?
