I'll use the awning for camping , and at night and it'll come in handy. Instead of hanging a lantern up there and bumping into that with my head I just have to flip a switch...

Yes. Just pop the hood feed the cord through, plug it in and close the hood.

you may have said this (like with books I just look at the pics) but why not hard wire it? Why have those extra few steps each time?

I'm not gonna leave it mounted all the time. That's one of the reasons I went with the GOBI mounts- they only have 2 bolts to loosen up to remove the awning.

I was actually meaning to ask you, what was the reasoning behind putting the junction box inside the hood as opposed to say somewhere closer like in the interior?

Are you going to make some Antman™ RJ-11 plug-in tools/accessories for under the hood use?

Couple of reasons:

1- The accessory fusebox is under the hood.

2- I didn't want the cord in the way whenever I opened the door.

3- The end of the awning is right over the hood edge anyway.

Camping With Titanpat57!

Last weekend Pat and I got a few days camping in at Hickory Run State Park in PA.

Just a few pictures to show what a good time we had!


This place is almost impossible to find- they have no physical address (WTF?) so the GPS got me close and then some grumpy toll attendant gave me the final directions. Anyway- due to the traffic and the navigation issues it took me 5 hrs to get there, which coincidentally gave Pat plenty of time to set up camp and have a cold beer waiting for me. What a guy!

I basically showed up with sleeping gear, food, beer and coffee. Accommodations were provided by the ROAM along with the boom-boom room (Pat's name for it- he's a little, well, off - if ya know what I mean)

For those of you that don't know, Pat built the ROAM trailer by hand, himself. It's freakin awesome and generates a buzz throughout the entire campground. People kept walking out of their way to check it out. One guy in particular, in an Xterra, kept driving by and Pat said "You watch, he'll be by sooner or later." Sure enuff he stopped by and got the tour. Really nice guy too. We ended up checking out his rig later that night and his custom drawer setup, etc.


Uh- Where was I? Oh yeah- the ROAM. Check out some pics:

Great write-up Antman! I really like the fog lights on my T4R, it is a shame they con only come on in the accompaniment of the headlights.

Being very green to the T4R life and website, I feel I must pass on this tidbit PSA. You have a photo of both the hi-beams and the fog lights on at the same time. In the state of Virginia, this will cause the vehicle to fail inspection. Fog lights must go off when hi-beams are in use.

Great pictures and write up. My parents used to live 30 minutes from there and have been to Hickory Run several times. Cool boulder-strewn glacial lake. Could you hear the water running beneath you while out on the rocks?
