ANTMAN MOD #8

Zombie storage/Flat cargo floor area

WARNING- Lots of bad pictures…

I wanted to accomplish two things with this mod.

1* Secure storage for some emergency gear (Zombie preparedness- inspired by SeattleMike. RIP Mike).
2* Create a flat cargo floor with the back seats folded flat (I don’t have a slide-out, or the 3<SUP>rd</SUP> row).

It was very uncomfortable trying to sleep in the cargo area, whenever the Wife threw me out(!), because the cargo floor was significantly lower than the back of the seats.
I tried to keep costs down (around $150) and didn’t do anything that isn’t completely reversible. The entire unit installs or removes in about 2 minutes with a few screws.

I seriously want to copy this mod for my storage space. I too would like more compartments to store things and want it to be flat back there. Plus the fact that you kept the cost of making this down too. Do you happen to still have a parts list that you used to complete this mod? :bounce:

So I will go ahead and say what most us already know. We have all been the victim of an extremely well-planned long con. Antman's thread is never coming back. This has all been part of a 6 year scheme to raise money from this forum and then disappear into thin air. Allow me to elaborate as I have seen this con many times before:

Step 1 - develop expert level knowledge of car modifications (4,000 - 5,000 hours)
Step 2 - purchase 4Runner and create identity on forum ($45,000, 30 hours)
Step 3 - establish trust and build relationships with forum members (200 hours)
Step 4 - modify and meticulously document improvements to 4Runner ($10,000, 150 hours)
Step 5 - fake problem with photo hosting site and get members to front money to restore the pictures
Step 5 - "the big payoff"...receive funds and leave the country until the heat dies down

The details change but most of this is pretty textbook. Antman is probably not even his real name. Antman is no doubt half way around the world right now living the good life off of his $400 score. Probably hatching his next scheme involving a late model Landcruiser. Well played Antman...well played.

When I have time to update the thread I will pay Photobucket. The fix is only good for a year and it'll probably take me a fn year to fix it all. Right now- no time. Sorry

I probably will not be going this year- but I will do whatever I can to help organize it. I already have the times planned but I will most likely need to use my vacation time for other means...
Sorry guys- once all this is over- it's over and things will go back to normal. I say hopefully by mid December we be all good...:yo:

No worries on The Cove trip though, you've got to focus on getting through with what needs to be done for you and your family. God speed!

I apologize if everyone knows this already, but it was a discovery to me. If you select the pictures from this thread, copy them, and then paste them to a workbook in OneNote it will paste them with the pictures. I don't know why this works but hopefully it will get you through your project.

I can't get that to work. I'll admit I don;t normally use Office products, but I loaded OneNote and tried copy / paste as well as drag / drop.

All I get is the PB icon.

Has anyone tried the fog light mod by [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] on a 2017?

Going through the write-up were it states the location of the mini taps will be going, I don't even have those listed on the inside of the fuse box lid.

I can follow directions but if I start cracking things open and the 'stuffs' is different, I'm lost.

This is BA! I sold my '07 SR5 in Nov. & upgraded to the '18 TRD Off-Road Premium. I used to sleep (flat) in my SR5 and when I put the seats down in my new Runner, my heart sank a bit.

Haha yes, BA = Badass. I was referring to the storage unit too. Definitely want to do something similar, although mine came with the all weather floor mats and it looks really nice...but functionality comes before all else.

Do you know about how heavy your storage unit is?

I am on Gen3 box- with the fridge slide on I'm guessing around 50# or so.
