ANTMAN'S Thread

February 23, 2019. A day which will live in infamy on T4R.ORG....lol.
Plus I'll have a few things to sell...

Let's see who can guess what I got (Pat, Dave and Corey don't spoil the fun!).

It is a brand new 2019...….:jaw:

ARGH.... I still cannot believe it. And amazing that they gave you half of what you paid for an 8 year old beat up 4Runner. Amazing what you put that thing through, not only on the trails but in general mods. Someone is going to buy that thing and be like "WHAT THE HECK DOES THIS BUTTON DO?!?!?" Anyway, glad you got a deal and I think you'll love the creature comforts of the ____________ .... almost blew it.... lol.

YOU BETTER STILL COME CAMPING WITH US YOU A-HOLE!!!!!! Seriously tho... no really... put that crap on your calendar. I'll even put a seat back in the 4Runner so you can go through the mud hole with us. ;)

:biggrin2: Subaru Ascent.

But you should have waited for the new 2020 XT Outback...that would let all those 4Runners feel sorry for themselves on dirt :)

Kia Telluride FTW

It was a good run- I really appreciate the folks on here, the interactions, the camping trips, the adventures, the parts swapping. It's been fun! I'll stick around to help answer questions and because, well, I like it here. Plus I'll have a few things to sell...

Antman Sorry to see you out of the 4Runner. I consider you the catalyst that introduced me to the fine group of folks I wheel and camp with now after my first trip to The Cove back in 2015. Really hope you take Corey up on joining us for a trip or two!

As for the ride. I'm thinking you went full 2019 Land Cruiser on us?

But then again you wouldn't have been worried about the hate from this forum for that so now I'm thinking Honda Pilot. Big enough for the kiddo's lots of comfort and driver assist features and not as hard to climb into now that the years are catching up lol!

LOL- I see I have surprised everyone here!

The need for a truck has been overwhelming since I have moved. The 'Runner performed admirably as a pseudo-truck, BUT, still not a truck.

I got a 2019 Silverado LTZ Z71 Crewcab Shortbed, Summit White with way too much chrome (it's on the mod list).:becky:

Heavy GM discounts, Incentives, Employee Pricing for me (Dad retired from GM) and damn-hardcore 8 hrs of me standing my ground negotiations (I closed the dealership Saturday night) netted an incredible deal.
Sensibility had me stick to the 5.3 V8 with the 3.23 gears. I'm getting 22 MPG already with only 125 miles on it!:usa:

Leather Heated /ventilated seats, power tailgate, parking sensors all the way around, cross traffic sensing, Wifi, dimming, folding outside mirrors with task lighting, Multiview rear view camera, heated rear seats for the girlies...on and on. I am spoiled!

The dealer was like- you can still take this offroad, check out those Rancho shocks and factory skidplates...LMAO:pound:
I showed him some videos on my phone from a past Cove trip and his jaw dropped. Sigh. Bittersweet.

I hadn't realized how far tech has come, it's really amazing. Just the trailering features alone are awesome. I just hope it doesn't break, as these 4Runners will spoil anyone with their neverending reliability.

I do absolutely love this new Silverado though! I'll get some (semi-good)pics tmrw if you people care, lol

Are the how-to links all in this thread? I see a ton on the first page but a lot of them appear to be bust links that go to specific pages / posts in this thread, some of which appear to go to incorrect pages and posts...

I have fixed the links umpteen zillion times and this forum continues to have issues with them. Truth is, this site has plenty of operational issues. Honestly that's the main reason I've dropped off lately. Just making the post about selling my truck I had to make 3 times because it kept self-deleting, IDK.

I've tried 5 times to post pics tonight and keep getting errors.

SMH.

Thanks for all the knowledge base Antman, I'm sure you will impress the bow tie forum guys with your creative mind. And don't forget the pixs, I secretly like full size trucks. I hope you didn't get that stair step ladder tailgate model

What I want to know is where there is a market for heavily-modified trucks. It's one thing to mod your own vehicle - you know where all those wires go, how the circuit boxes work, where the short cuts are ... but because we aren't all Antman, who is the person that wants to buy someone else' handiwork, because it may be great, or it may be a whole lot of problems ...

I agree- while my work has proven to be trouble free and durable, no way anybody is figuring that out easily- even a skilled tech would have to spend ALOT of time troubleshooting, lol. There must be 20 relays in that 4runner!

Congarts on new truck! It's not a 4Runner of course but I still want to see all the mods you'll make on this truck ;)
