ANTMAN'S Thread

Congratulations on the new truck. Are you going to start heavily modifying it now, and doing all your own maintenance? Or you gonna let the skilled GM techs take over?

I already took the airdam off lol.
I was scouting areas to put the ARB compressor I never installed from a year ago during the group buy too.
It’s gonna be cool. :)

A huge loss to the forum, the amount of knowledge you contributed was huge arguable more than any single soul - much appreciated.

Not a bad choice, if you needed a Full Size the Tundra is laughably out of date, the Ram .....well its a Ram so Ford or Chevy, both good options and ones I would explore if I was in the market.

I test drove a 2019 LTZ a month of so ago - amazing truck, friend thought it was funny that it was getting better gas mileage than the 4runner.

It is amazing how much you are mentioned in this forum. Even newbies like me are going to miss you.

Who knows, maybe you will be back. Maybe the 6.5 gen will have your name on it!

For me, I am going to miss a lot of features I have become used to in my last three cars that had more tech, two BMWs and an Acura MDX lastly. All three have had significant electronic issues. In fact one BMW they could never figure out the gremlins and crushed it after a year. Plus I love that the nav/infotainment system in the 4R is replaceable with better aftermarket options, the OEM systems in any car do not age well. My daughter is really going to miss the comfy back seat of the MDX, but she will be driving in a year anyway.

Cheers

Wait! You Saps are really falling for this fake news? This is nothing more than a selfish act to get his thread views to a million. I mean seriously, the guy may be dumb but nobody is really dumb enough to buy a GM.

:hello:

Don’t think so. I’ll be getting rocks/mulch all that stuff. I’m thinking one of those hard folding covers...

Get a trailer for that stuff, you need to this...

Tundra just didn’t stack up huh?

I hope the bow tie is as reliable as the Yota has been. From friend’s experience not really but cheers! Congrats

Thanks for all the knowledge and mods suggestions. The value you added is priceless.

Thanks everybody!

I honestly couldn't stand the Tundra- it needs a refresh badly. That said, I know what I'm getting into- yes, Dave, I AM that stupid, lol. No way to replace the 4Runner's reliability with anything, maybe ever... My needs changed...

I will stick around here to help. It's been nice being so readily accepted on this forum- it's like home. The Titan forum I was on was not nearly as welcoming (except TitanPat was on there telling gay jokes about himself all the time), and I'm sure the Chevy Forum won't be even close- although the age base over there seems a little closer to me and so far very respectful.

Who knows, maybe I can have a build thread on here for my Silverado. Chevman? lol

Took some pics today but still can't get them to load, says "failed to load". Has there been a problem with that lately since the "update" ?

I bet your first mod will be figuring out how to permanently disable that annoying auto stop-start "feature" on the new GMs...

I just moved from a Colorado over to the TR4. I've been in a Chevy since 04, Tahoe, Avalanche, Colorado, a Tundra was prior to those. I loved the Colorado forum, had lots to offer, great people as well. I hope your Chevy will give you what you're looking for. I'm hoping for the same for my new TR4 but snapped a wheel stud in week 1 while ensuring the torque was good on the new TRD wheels, it's already got me thinking about quality.

so it appears your selection is based on the looks of these GM vehicles.

well I was a GM guy since 1967 and when the new GM arrived in 2008 that is a company that will put the screws to the customers.

NOW why did I switch to Toyota . more reliable vehicle.. much safer also. and higher resale values. I have been on GM truck forums for many years and I feel the pain of these member losses .. GM is a very bad company when their components fail .. many of these are electrical/electronic and wiring failures . GM uses electrical power steering and braking .. also a variable fuel pump pressure controller. then the suspension issues .. the AFM which many have had engine failures . these are very expensive and you will not believe how much these drop in value .. good luck with your GM vehicle .. hope you are the only guy that has no huge loss..

Whatever Cheviman buys I'm sure he can modify and remedy the issues. I personally can't bash GM, it's one of my better performing stocks I bought at the end of 2018. I like the truck purchase NYSE: GM :lever: Whose next?!

Do you really believe I bought the truck just for looks?? Really? The 4 runner was my first Toyota. My Dad retired from GM. During college, I worked on the assembly line in the summer to cover vacations. I’m 50 now - I don’t buy vehicles just based on looks.

I know what Chevy is. The dealers SUCK. I know how to deal with that. I'm sure I'll be just fine.
