Any +150K mileage 5th gens?

We have a 2000 Tundra 4WD TRD with the 4.7 2UZFE V8 we bought new. It has approx 105K miles. No real engine issues. Changed timing belt at 90K and replaced one coil pack about 2 months ago - that's it. Oh, also had to replace front bumper - but that was the deer's fault! Our 2013 4Runner only has about 2K miles so far. Haven't even made it to the firat oil change yet!

Seeing posts like these is inspiring, I haven't even hit 6k since 9/12 due to a short commute. I'm hoping to get similar longevity, the old Jeep Grand Cherokee was tired as hell at 106k...

I come from owning Grand Cherokees as well, had 280k miles on the 2000 4.7 and 220k on the 2004 4.7HO when I sold them. Both never had any engine problems and were running fine and not using excessive oil when sold.

However it was everything else that was falling apart, mostly front differentials and the extra bells and whistles goodies like power adjustable pedals and automatic duel zone heat and a/c.

I have 45k on my 2012 TE and really hope to get at least 250k without any major problems. If head gaskets fail on these engines, I will be extremely disappointed. So far I am very happy with the Toyota, not even one small problem yet.

I did buy a 125k mile extended warranty though, just in case.

im about to hit the 95k mark on my 2010...no problems whatsoever, just replaced brakes front and back....i love my 5th gen!

I to am at 95k with my 2010 SR5. Zero issues. Just did the brakes a few months back when it had 85k on the pads. So far this has been the best vehicle I have owned, and also is my 1st Toyota!

I just rolled over 224,000 on my 4th gen 03 Sport Edition. Still runs great. Im hoping for at least 300K out of this motor. Truthfully, I haven't even taken great care of this motor but it still runs strong.

You bumped a 3 year old thread in the 5th gen forum to tell us about your 4th gen?

How did you even find this thing? Just spamming random threads to hit the minimum post limit to start new threads?

My family is batting 1000 with head gasket issues with 4th gens. We had an 04' and 05' both Sport Ed V6. Both of them had the dreaded head gasket issue right around 130k. I sure hope my 14' LE doesn't suffer the same fate.

Just under 150,000 on my 2010 Trail. So far the only maintenance items have been both front wheel bearings, a battery, the latch for the center console lid has broken twice, a few set of tires, a few sets of windshield wiper blades, oil changes as required, and just put all new brakes pads and rotors on all 4 corners.

Still drives great. Just added 285/70/17 Toyo AT's, Bilstein 6112's, and Bilstein 5160's in the rear with a cut down Daystar spacer.

My 1994 LandCruiser has twice as many miles but is finally starting to drive like it has that many miles.

My 2012 Trail just turned 150k today.

the 3.0 is notorious for bad head gasket failure, they call it the 3.slow. the first couple years of 5vz's had some head gasket problems, but the years after are all excellent. theres a lot of 3rd gens with 200-300k plus and still running strong. ive got 275k in my 02 with the 5vzfe, and yes they have a cast iron block. Im not an engine expert but it seems like toyota decided to save weight by using an aluminum block to increase fuel economy. the 1uz is actually aluminum as well and makes similar or more power than the 2uz, even though the 2uz has more displacement.

We have two 5th gens at work as well. One's a 2011 that just turned 220k miles last week; the other is a 2013 at about 45k.

Problems thus far have been zero. We service them at all the recommended intervals, as we did on the fleet vehicles when we were buying Fords (haven't since 2011), but the same driver in the '11 that just hit 220k was in a 2010 Explorer previously that we abandoned at 110k. In those 110k miles, we put nearly $11k into it for stupid repairs (differentials, brakes, ABS sensors, throttle body, wheel bearings, two hub assemblies, and wheels coming off (yes - off).

The 4Runner has needed one set of brakes, and tires. Pretty sweet comparison - night and day.
