Any Import Drag Race fans here? (pics from last weekend)

Been too long since I had anything that was a lot of fun to take down the drag strip, but seeing some of the cars out in Sacramento last weekend is making me want to build something again.

Of course they weren't ALL imports

and there was a car show as well

and when the bracket races were running me and my zoom lens did get a bit distracted by some other scenery

TEC is who rebuilt my Supra's turbo way back when I got it!

They made me a custom 18g turbo to replace my 16g and just swapping the turbo I went almost .6 quicker in the 1/4 before I touched any tuning and it did squeeze me into the high 12s up here at 5800ft. The best I ran was a 12.4 down in Houston.

Love the pics,I have been thinking of getting an import project car too. Maybe a WRX or something. I used to have a Purple and gray 91 Talon TSI with a huge turbo and 3 inch exhaust. I bought it from some guy who dumped all his $ into it and then bought a supra. He claimed it was a 12 second car . I didnt even know what I had, I was 19 and all I knew was that I could beat any civic or integra in town, as well as the camaros and mustangs. Gotta love those all wheel drive land rockets. I beat it like it was a ferrari , used to break CV joints all the time from launching it too hard. Ended up hitting a deer at 65 MPH and totaled it. I sold the engine and drivetrain for more than I had paid for the car.

If I ever built a Import this would be it.... I have always loved the Supra.

I've been to a few drift events, most before I got into taking pics though. Southern California has a lot more opportunity for those events than the northern half, so I don't see much anymore.

That definitely makes sense. There a great atmosphere and is neat to watch these car slide around with precision.
