Some really nice bikes on here, I want to stuff a motor on most of them.
For those with bad knees, backs...poor health, just for the fun of it, whatever.

I rode mt bikes when I was younger but it just got to be too hard and not as fun as when I could actually breath. Messed up a knee so the cap pops out of place if I pedal to hard for to long.
I am on my third eBike now. :crazy: Its about as bad as $runner mods.
Got me moving again and I can ride and have fun with out killing myself.

Hey guys, school me on press-fit bottom brackets. I just pulled a Shimano SM-BB91-41 off the bike because one of the bearings is frozen. I'm thinking upgrade, I like the sound of ceramic bearings, worth it? Any brands to avoid? What numbers do I need to worry about for fitment, just width/interior diameter/exterior diameter, right?

Old school steel here. But then, I was already in my 40s when these were new.
1997 KHS Summit-X hardtail. Bought this in 2010 on Craigslist. From the condition of it and the rest of the bikes in the garage, this was only ride a couple of times around the cul-de-sac.
I rode it on the trails a bit, but mostly bought it to turn in an Xtracycle cargo bike.
Then I bought a beater Trek 830 on Craigslist for $60. I used it for roads and trails when the weather was crap. My daughter has it at college now, so if it gets stolen, it won't bother me.
Then I found the bike I really wanted on eBay in 2013, a 1993 Trek 970 SingleTrack; Trek's top of the line bike then, and sold for $900 ($1500 in 2016 dollars.) Like new, barely used (complete with Trek branded tool bag and working cyclocomputer) for $400 shipped.

MTB'ing is my passion. Pound a few Epics every year and am fortunate enough to be able to ride outta my garage and onto multiple trail systems on the CO front-range.
This year will include Whole Enchilada (Moab), Monarch Crest - IMBA Epic (an annual ritual), 2 TBD's in Fruita/Grand Junction and of course, countless miles on the CO Trail, Indian Creek, Buffalo Creek and other local trails at my disposal. And yes...I ride flats and no dropper. :nod: Bottom pic has the obligatory 4RNR (which is getting a mild OME lift and new rubber next Thur) and my ol' steel hard-tail which I still like to grind with on occasion, especially in snow and early season. Doin' a ~20-miler this coming Sunday, the weather has been great here and trails to ~7K' are good (although I had 6" snow this morning).

Felt great getting out on my Giant today. First time since Christmas week due to all the snow/rain/mud. Did a hilly 6 mile loop in 8 min less than my prior fastest. Going to the gym and working on cardio heavily and strength has been paying dividends. Can't wait for a bit warmer and drier weather.

You need a matching rear shock that has kashima coating! PM me if your interested. i have a 7.875 x 2.25 sitting on my work bench.
